:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing: YES FOR RAISES! WE LOVE THEM!

And I didn't know what a betta fish was until now xD.

I had a bet with my dad earlier today about what the minimum balance was for opening a checking account. It's $1,500 and I knew it cuz I talked to two separate bank people a couple of days ago. My dad thought it was $300. We made a bet, and I won~. $300 is the minimum for a savings account there.

I learned that if you are moving a refrigerator into a new house, you need to let it sit 24 hours before turning it on or it may never cool down properly.

Ummmm, everything okay over there? xD.

I will keep that in mind for the future ^_^.

yeah it has to do with the build getting resettled into the right places I fear.

And @LilySmash I am a teacher so this is a very nice thing as we do not get promised raises each year.

Today, I learned that there are things called "adoptables" in the art world where you can sell a character or animal design... Some artists get a lot of money out of it, too.

13 days later

Today I learned how clueless I really am about color!

You know how in basic art classes they make you do that 1-10 value scale?

and you know how there's the tint and shade thing they teach you.

I always had trouble doing those right when we did them in class, so I kind of ignored them.

I've been messing around with art programs for awhile and I technically know how they work. But I always just kind of ignored the finer details of the color picker like the numbers next to the H,S,B.

And while I marginally understood the scale, tint, value stuff I only now saw this!!!

SERIOUSLY?!? THAT'S HOW IT'S ALL CONNECTED?!? My God, how many other digital artists have already known this?! And it was so easy too! It's like a magic eye picture, the harder I looked at the less it made since, but when I drew back a bit I could almost immediately see what it meant.
I've struggled with this for years and it was so OBVIOUS!!!!

I learned that the actress who plays Eleven (from Stranger Things) is deaf in one ear.

I learned that NASA sent vinyl records into space years ago with pictures and instructions for aliens to find us.

I questioned about the color picker for quite some time, then I learned about the scales last summer. I asked my teacher on the spot what the chart meant on digital programs and then I got a small summary. Then I googled the rest. Sometimes the answers just come when you ask a person or ask google xD.

That's interesting ._. I wonder when aliens would visit us?

It's normally a coolant issue.

R-12 and it's replacements coolants work by pushing air across coils to convert a cooled liquid into a heated gas and then reversing the process to return the gas back to a liquid in the enclosed system.

If a fridge gets roughly handled while unplugged, the coolant... in it's wrong state...can seep to the wrong places.

Sometimes...just sometimes... Turning the fridge off for an additional 24 hours or so can sort it out but not always.

Luckily I learned to not turn it on immediately from the guy we got our fridge from, so we didn’t make the mistake. But we probably did with the free fridge we tried out before that

My brother can make better scrambled eggs than me. And Now I know to make them myself without chocking on the salt.

That if you let enough dead grass accumulate in your mower, it can incapacitate a tractor's power take-off
I had only seen that with very thick ice in the snowblowing implement. But the mower? That's some tough grass!

I've been cutting my own hair for about a year now and today I finally learned how to cut my back so it looks smooth between the hair and the shaved part. I am feeling super good about myself! Only took a year to figure things out.

I've learned I don't have to bash my head against perspective and just make up things to compliment a room or landscape as I go; it's perfectly fine to draw a guide of where to place furniture/buildings and THEN plan out perspective with some digital tricks.

This is the guide that made me realize this after I spent the best part of last night just sketching furniture in a 2-way perspective room trying to discover where it looked best. Thankfully it was just the sketch.
