What do the (ahem) Webtoons Icons for Stats mean?

Hate to ask, but does anyone know what the EYE icon means?
There's an EYE counter - followed by subscriptions and finally a rating.

Is the EYE unique views (by IP, device or account)?
Reading sessions, like 1 person reading XX chapter(s)?

For the 1,099 number above, is that TOTAL unique Readers?
Or what?

The eye means views. Probably unique ones.

What if the person doesn't have an account? Does that count too?

I am pretty sure it's all the views, like every one of them 🤷‍♀️ otherwise the numbers are just too big.

I assume that since Webtoon uses views as a requirement for monetisation, they must require them to be unique, otherwise it'd be easy to abuse the system, so no, I don't think the same person can trigger it over and over. I think the size of the number suggests that each individual page of your comic counts as a separate view, even if it's the same reader.

Being regtered on the site possibly isn't needed if they're tracking repeat views as most websites do, but there's really no way to be sure.

I'm afraid that was entirely possible, at least up until a few months ago I remember checking my own posted pages to look for comments, since WT doesn't have a comment notification system, and seeing my view numbers going up with each episode I visited. It would only count each viewed episode once, so you couldn't reload the same page multiple times to make the numbers go up, but it was definitely possible to inflate your own numbers by visiting each of your own episodes every once in a while.

I think that got changed recently, though, as I did a test right now in which I visited some of my own pages and saw no changes in my view count.

Well suppose you want to say "I have THIS number of readers!".
How you pull that off and count what as the reliable number?
