What do you think of Spiderforest?

I've heard their name being mentioned around (usually after someone mentions another collective) and I wanted to know what everyone's thoughts on them as a collective are.

they're pretty different from Hiveworks, at least from what i know. HW pays their creators from advertising, but it doesn't seem like there's an actual sense of community in HW. with Spiderforest, i believe they're a lot more community oriented, but don't pay their creators. i was rejected by Spiderforest a couple years ago, but i definitely want to apply again, since the last time i applied i was only like... less than a year into my webcomic. i'd vastly prefer SF over HW just because of that sense of community.

EDIT: SF also isn't a stickler on exclusivity, so you can have mirrors of your comic if you wanted to. meanwhile, HW requires exclusivity.

It's really already been answered for what SpiderForest is about. But I just want to add that, as someone who has lingered in the SF forums (and have been slowly posting more often here and there) the community is a wonderful place to be. Even if you havent applied to be part of the collective OR you're been rejected, everyone is still welcome in their forums and its a great place to connect with other comic artists. So much advice is given if you ask for it, and everyone there is friendly.
I really recommend checking it out and saying hello even if the applications to apply to the collective aren't currently open.
