What do your characters sound like? (apparently this has been asked before so I'm making the title unique)

Like what's the voice you hear in your head when you read them? You could name another character, voice actor or describe it.

For example, a lot of my characters, for some reason, have voices as if straight outta Monty Python and/or Old Disney.

Especially Friar, he sounds like that prince guy off the Holy Grail, shrill, english accent, sorta dainty like.
Gallus sounds close to Disney's Shere Khan (the 2D film, not live action), gruff and authorative.
Chantecleer = Liam Neeson. Enough said.
Bucky - idk, but his voice is definitely lower toned (cause he's 'undubbed')
Dr Fowler - stern, and English too.

There's an upcoming owl that totally sounds like the wizard from Sword in the Stone(old version). You'll know it when you see him in January.

Kinda funny I hear English accents cause this takes place in the American Midwest.

Lol mine sounds like Toby from Narutoand he has that switch he does from Toby to Madara’s voice

Depends, but in my case, for my first project, it had started as an animated pilot I made for college, thinking at the time I could pitch it even though it was made on a string budget, but from there it became the Frontier-0 Comic & Novel it is now on Tapas, and now I do have the voices in my hear from actually having hired voice actors for all of them lol. If anyone ever wants to see them, here’s the pilot:

Had to stop watching mid-pilot bc I'm crying too much!
Honest, string budget or not, this would've been an awesome animated series, but I understand that would be difficult (did a half-assed 3D animation, no sound, no music. Lost a lot of passion on that effin thing.)

But you got a sub! Not sure which to start with, but I'll be reading one of them soon!

Thank you ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed the pilot, yeah, at the time I conceptualized it as a sort of Adult Swim mini-animated series and bled through the nose to get it made. Even a string budget is tough to acquire, trust me, but this became my thesis for college basically lol. Ultimately, it went nowhere, and I realized I never wanted to work with animation and TV at all, writing is my passion, so I've just been doing that. It led me to try and retell the story as a prequel comic with the money I had left and then start a novel, and it's all on here on Tapas. Working on a new novel now.

Both Baul and Isador have a froggy like voice, similar to Emma Stone. Gavin has a little deeper voice than a normal guy, but not abnormal. Not Johnny Cash deep.

Herny Hare- André De Shields well, at least at the concept version, when I was still figuring out the whole character, but his song "road to hell" from the musical hadestown gave me a good idea about the general personality of Henry.

unfortunately, he's the only character I imagined with an specific voice.

Daecon sounds like Charlie Sheen (rich, arrogant jerk)
Owen sounds like Patrick Stewart (no need to list his credits)
Leander sounds like Ron Funches (Final Space, Harley Quinn)
Evander sounds like Billy West (Futurama, Ren and Stimpy)
Dionysius sounds like Tommy Chong (Cheech & Chong, That 70's Show), though not quite as dumb. He's an aging hippy
Lucinda sounds like everybody's mother
Darion sounds like Alan Oppenheimer in his high-pitched Skeletor voice (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, 1980's version)

I think Regina King or Roz Ryan could do The Blue Fedora's voice. She looks kinda small, so I want her to sound a bit more mature than she looks.

As for Otto, he's got a German accent for sure, and my headcanon is lowkey Robert Atkin Downes or Ted Levine doing the accent. But, I kinda want Otto's voice to not be crazy deep.

Basically I want the characters to sound their age, since I'm realizing they look super old or super young depending on the drawing.

I just know one of my characters would sound like Dante Basco, specifically Zuko. Probably Libum.

Kolupati sounds like a mix between Haruhi from Ouran and Sailor Saturn from Sailor Moon (English Dub)

And I have no idea what Tikba would sound like. A mix of both male and female voices, I guess. Someone you can't really pinpoint their gender.

Zhisen (the guy with the cricket cage) has a really beautiful singing voice. Since he's Chinese, a fitting comparison might be Eric Chou? (Unbreakable Love, as a song recommendation to see how he sounds)
Khojin (with the scars) has a sort of gravelly, deep voice. Since I'm not too familiar with the acting/singing scene in Mongolia beyond throat singers and rock stars like The HU, I'll say, it's kind of like Tsuda-san's voice acting in this famous clip, ahaha (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Cp0hyaPqJMg). If you don't know Tsuda Kenjiro, he's the last man to speak out of the three.

Bobbie's voice is so distinct to me but it's hard to explain...He's deaf so he has a bit of a "deaf accent". His voice is masculine but a bit higher pitch, and it has some rasp to it.

David sounds similar to J. Michael Tatum, his voice is smooth and calming.

I'm not really sure what R.J. or Gabriel sound like

Elsie has a soft English accent probably of a Sussex dialect.

Roy has a deep of tone English accent but he can get high pitched when he’s scared.

Rosemary has a more extroverted English accent. I honestly don’t know how to describe it.

Ernest obviously has an Irish accent, singsongy, nasal.

Steam Man sounds like a 1800s compressed Macintosh computer.

Nick sounds like Eminem or Jesse Pinkman
but with a Chicago accent so he pronounces certain words differently
He also sounds annoyed most of the time, even if he's not.
Jane has a very soft almost squeaky voice and she talks very loud when she's excited

Mahk has a very thick southern accent, despite living in Black River he spent most of his life in a trailer park down south

Jimmy his voice cracks a lot so it goes up and down in pitch, and he sounds very angry in tone

Winter has a very offputtingly deep voice that doesn't exactly match his face and its very smooth (like Lio from Promare)
