What Got You Started Drawing for Comics?

I remember writing up stories that never really finished,but i got the inspiration to start drawing a comic
from sisters who were drawing way before me and my little brother's comics,it was something we enjoyed doing together.:)

My first few comics were ones I created when I was very little. Then, about two years ago I discovered webcomics and thought it was fun to be able to share stories so easily through the internet, so I wanted to do just that. I did a few "fan comics" here and there and didn't start creating my own until this year. I like creating characters and I wanted to share them with others, so here I am.

Long before I got interested in manga, I've been writing stories and sharing them with what few friends I had.
As I always sat with a few grade-school kids on the bus ride to school, I also had a habit of drawing short children's stories for them, and that evolved into my interest in making comics.

I was jobless when I started my comic. It gave me a life goal xD
Then, since I fixed the publication to 1 page per week, I took it as a challenge ^^
I'm working on my webcomic since 2010, 170 pages drawn, I'm pretty proud of it ^^

I think my comic drawing days started out in middleschool when I met a childhood friend of mine and we began to draw comics together with characters we made up. Over the years they grew up with us, and even though the story's now complete we still look back on it with fondness. I don't think I ever grew out of the joy of illustrating these stories, so I'm still making them today (although it's only been recent that I started posting them online).

Heh that awesome. Comic is another form of stories, though in school it does not count as real books people suppose to read during school. I wasn't allow to even read comics at school.

Inspiring, I'm impressed most people would just give up and move back into their parents house.
Cause it difficult in the real world.

A lot people are interested manga, and anime somehow a person goes though something in the lines in mangas.

Ah! I was living in my parents house ^^
My job has nothing to do with drawings (I'm a computer engineer), but during about 5 months of job research, I was pretty pessimistic and I spent my day watching tv ^^; ... Then I said to myself : you have a lot of time, do something creative !

children do create the cutest things, your going to get somewhere with your comic. You could become an animator if you wanted

I always loved both writing and drawing. Since I couldn't pick which one I liked better, I instinctively moved towards comics. It's my middle ground of creative happiness and completion.

I still do illustrations and write stories, but comics remain my favorite and more personal way of expressing myself.

I actually started from just doodling. I began drawing pictures of my friends and me, and while they were crude sketches but never the less i got great support and eventually i kept going. I recall the very first comic was called oog the viking. My friend wrote and i drew. volume 1: poptart island... Afterwards i began sketching more and more thing until it became a habit. note pad in one pocket pencil in another. As i progressed more and more people kept supporting me and i began uploading them to face book, sharing moments, dreams, and comical situations. Eventually, my friend showed me tapastic and I thought "hey why not, screw them haters." and made An Un-Pho-Gettable Life. I began uploading, and i kept uploading until it became a part of me. Not drawing and not uploading comics makes me feel weird now even though I have only been on tapastic for 3 months.

Short story: what truely made me draw comics were my friends, family, and supporters.

As far back as I can remember, I've always been doodling on practically any surface available. My older brother made a superhero comic when he was around 10 years old ("Superdude"-- very original, yes?) and in typical younger sibling fashion I began to copy him and make my own comics. In the 6th grade my cousin introduced me to manga, and for the rest of my school days we would talk 24/7 about our own manga-inspired stories. Luckily the internet was too young at that time and none of my silly stories were released to the wilds.

And after many, many years of repeatedly declaring that I would start a webcomic, I finally put on my big girl pants and started both Magical Girl and Memoirs of a Millennial this year! I still feel like a little kid running about in a world of adults, shoving my stapled stacks of scribbles under their noses, but it is also unbelievably exciting to finally be realizing this dream of mine.
