I like to use people's answers to questions like these as a reference for how weird (am I?/ is this?)
When drawing a character that's conveying an emotion, I make the expression with my face.
POV: You're my drawing tablet, and Im drawing a HAPPY character
I'm not sure if it helps or not, but it's something I realize I do. I also occassionally talk to myself. By "talking to myself", I mean verbally saying what might be going through the character's mind during the action or scene.
For example, a person is looking for their keys, they'd probably think " Where could they be, dang it"
or "Why does this always happen." And I would murmur these lines under my breath.
Those are mine. and I'M NOT WEIRD. To prove it, this thread will be FILLED with others who can relate.
However, it WOULD be funny if no one replied.
