Knowing the nature of Doki's previous threads I understood the topic was more of a discussion piece and was a little sad to see it close, but I understand why it was. Depression and suicide are sensitive topics, most people don't want to even think about them let alone openly talk about them. Also stuff like that, even when layered with warnings, can still encourage someone with depression to attempt/commit suicide. As much as I like getting into those tough details myself, being someone who enjoys Psychology, it's definitely a topic you need to present very carefully and know that it most likely won't be taken well by the majority of people.
I do think a general response from Ratique would have been better, like "For anyone having suicidal thoughts, please contact your country's suicide prevention hotline, or seek out professional and familial support", but they probably didn't know the nature of Doki's post at the time. It's understandable why they would think Doki is seeking out help from the community rather than presenting discussion.
Either way it was an interesting thread to read. If there are a good number of people out there interested in discussion stuff like that from a psychological, philosophical and/or writer standpoint maybe someone out there could make a Discord server for it in the future?
