@sirkbirb Now there's a list of recently familiar names... XD
@Chronitis Don't have one, but my ideal style would be something along the lines of... Hmm, what was it...?
...Alright, so I have a very definite style lodged in my head, but I can't say where it's from. I guess the closest inspiration I can state is @Fuyudust*s style, although I don't know much about his/her comics, per se.
Collecting all of my possible inspirations took a while, but i think i got the most important and noticeable here.
First, the general Butch Hartman style. The one i like the most is Danny Phantom. I just watched it a lot as a kid!
The Ratchet and Clank games
The Team Fortress 2 comics, based on the videogame (you don't need to have played it, just read the comic, it's great). This comic is actually the final reason i decied to start my own!
And last, the Ben 10 cartoons, mainly the first one beause it's the one i wathced the most.
So this is one of the better looking pages on my comic, tell me, does the inspiration show?
Hmm, let's see...
I definitely have a general anime/manga influence overall, although not necessarily from any one artist in particular.
A bigger, more definitive influence is Tetsuya Nomura's work though. I was really fascinated with the line weight and harsh black shading in his character designs for The World Ends With You when I was younger and first starting to draw, and so over time a lot of that has crept into my inking technique. I similarly love looking at his character art for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy as well.
Here are some recent pieces that kinda show off what I mean xD
Hmm, I'm not sure anymore where exactly I get my inspiration from...
When I first started being serious about drawing I was very into Rumiko Takahashi, espacially Inuyasha and Ranma½. The way she does hands and her more goofy expressions and way of drawing clothes is still showing in my style I think.
Lately I've been into Mamoru Hosoda, and his very lanky characters. The way he illustrates movement, the way his characters run I find fascinating. They feel kinda boneless, yet subtly detailed (More in the actual film, this is cover art, but couldn't find a good image of what I mean).

I think I'm also starting to take a page out of Kaoru Mori's book and making my art more detailed.

I'm also very fond of the style in the Avatar series
And then there's a Danish comic creator called Peter Madsen I have been a fan of since I was a child. He makes a series of comics about the Nordic Gods, I highly recommend them
He can also do cute things, but I personally like his dramatic stuff better

Doraemon was my first manga, so I used to draw like it.
Then I fell in love with Digimon's overall art style
Then there were times I loved drawing triangle noses and spiky hair like Conan's.
Then I started drawing sparkly eyes like this female character from Mermaid Melody:
Detailed hair like these characters from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
And then facial expressions from Yu Gi Oh:
There are other mangas that have inspired my art style but these are the major ones. I'm glad all those things have helped me find my current style
I HAVE ALOT OF INSPIRATION
the first one is disney. so much disney. specifically Glen keane, Brittany lee, and Jin Kim.

also even though I worry that it never shows. but I do take alot of Inspiration from studio Ghibli / studio Ponoc. Mostly in backgrounds, creatures, and even just how it's animated to make emotions and feeling so much MORE that it is.
I'm also Inspired by cartoon saloon
and The Webcomic Ava's Demon1
@Thesleepypencil I think Ghibli has inspired so many artists these days, and it's so refreshing. Anime-inspired art tends to come off a little same-y, where as Ghibli inspired work still carries with it the weight of emotion and strong character design. It would be a lie if I said I wasn't also inspired by Ghibli.
As for my own inspirations, my most recent can be traced to a few sources:
I absolutely adore the work of Mini Ludvin https://www.instagram.com/miniludvin/?hl=en4
Her work is also very Ghibli-esk, and that's probably what inspired me originally. Whatever the case, her designs actually inspired the design of my main character, Noa, from my comic The Stone Gods.
As well, the art of Monster Hunter (as well as the whole series) has been a huge influence on me. Their character designs and costume designs are incredible!
The colouring style of K. Michael Russel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCps08eOJfFRm00TE5LStIIg1 has also been a huge inspiration to me. His work really changed the way I colour. Not to mention his regular art.
the only things i can think of on top of my head is i have a lot of anime/manga and deviantart inspiration growing up that devoloped my style
i used to really like yamio's work but now it's too shiny for my eyes lol
I've read a ton of different comics, but I'll say these are the ones that has inspired my artstyle in some way.
André Franquins run of Spirou. Franquin had this amazing energy to his drawings. One of the great masters of comics.
I will be talking about this in reference to my current webcomic Project SHaDe
For the longest time, probably one of the catalysts to starting this webcomic, was Ishida Sui's Tokyo Ghoul (specifically the first manga - :re is quite stylish, but it doesn't have the same gritty touch of the first one)
Lately, I've also been inspired by Jiro Matsumoto's artstyle, especially after reading Freesia
May update this later, but these are the things that come to mind quickly as of now.
My comic, Fairy Stories4, is influenced by the comics and cartoons I grew up with....Bugs Bunny, Calvin and Hobbes, Blondie, and Disney. Its colored like a Sin City comic because that's the way my mind works.
Long answer: Lol this probably sounds weird but I never really thought about it? Although my style has evolved A LOT over the years I've never really had a style inspiration. Way back in high school I used to only like Japanese styles, taking a little from the various manga I liked. The most I remember about that time was I liked how Arina Tanemura drew eyes, so I started drawing eyes in a similar fashion.
Unfortunately this was the only thing I can find, and is from a little later when I was slowly phasing out of the Tanemura eyes. But there's still a tiny sliver of similarity in there. (not really)
In my later years of high school I started thinking "man, I wanna be like a real artist", and in my mind that was finding beauty in the human form and the aesthetics of the real world. At the time I thought real people and things were ugly, only thinking anime and manga looked pleasing.
During that mindset change I forced myself to only observe real people (mostly nude) and real things, losing all stylistic influence. My style just sorta evolved on it's own with the new changes. Any more off the top of my head my favorite styles come from Alphonse Mucha, H.R Giger, Norman Rockwell, and James Jean. But I can't say they've influenced my style because I haven't actively studied their work.
?????
¯_(ツ)_/¯
TL;DR: I never think about it so I don't know?
I don't really know anymore about direct influence but there's a pretty big mix of things that have led me one way or the other I'm sure while messing about with styles. Looking at my art style now I think I've begun to drift towards a sort of classic anime style?
Like even though I've never seen Urusei Yatsura I've liked the look of it's characters

or the bright poppy colors of sailor moon
I'm definitely among those who were drawn in by Tanemura's art style and Full Moon was the first to really catch my eye

There's also two shows that I've watched on Smile that happened to capture my eye being Little Women and Swiss Family Robinson

Whether it really shows I'm not 100% sure but it's something about the softness in the art, I guess
Junko is a pretty heavy inspiration for my art, like really heavy. Haha.
Yuiji Aniya is a fairly recent inspiration, but I realized I already did a lot of thing similarly, so I've been referencing them a lot lately .<3
Some of my art for comparison.
My largest inspiration from childhood was Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto creator). I was blown away when I saw a style that was a little more realistic and had characters that looked rather distinct from each other, compared to most show styles I had seen before that (Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura etc.)
Around that time, I used to draw like this:
As I grew up I started looking towards new inspirations like Glenn_Arthur_Art
Djamila Knopf
Orpheelin

And detailed oriented artists like Kaoru Mori

So nowadays my illustrations/ comics are like this:
Some people have said they think my art style was Disney inspired. Mostly it just started with Naruto and then I added more realism to it that I studied from photos. xD
I was inspired by Art Noveau while living in Montreal. I loved the way the outlines popped.
I was also inspired by David Mazzuchelli’s art for Batman Year Zero. This eventually led to my highly inconsistent art-style. But I’m most proud of it. The intent was to remind people of the art in 1920s King Arthur books.
My style does have a lot of Japanese Art influences. However, there is a nice hint of cartoonish exaggeration to it as well.
I think my style is a mixture of watching a hint of Sailor Moon and 80s anime, a BUNCH of Scooby Doo, and the entire series of Ed, Edd, n Eddy and Looney Tunes. I have a love for dynamic poses, and I took a lot of that from the cartoons, keeping some of the aesthetics of modern Japanese animations.
Also, this really inspired my love for anime a bit more:
