What inspires you to keep your comic going?

I want to tell the world about my stories and i want to improve my art. Through my comic i was able to express my feelings and my perspective about life, that's the reason why i want to keep drawing.

I want to tell stories to the world. I express myself in very subtle ways in my work. And I just like doing it.

At the moment, I just want to polish my skills (In writing and art) because I aim to someday work in the Japanese manga market (I know how almost impossible is that) to reach a wider audience. I don't really care about income as long as I have enough to live, I just want to reach more people with my work.

The love for my characters. They're my babies.
The love for the art of it in general
The way in which it enriches my life.... emotionally and in terms of feeling productive.
My ADHD. I can't take a longer break from my comics and just play videogames like normal people easily could... I would seriously get bored and feel understimulated. Eventually I'd lose motivation to do ANYTHING
The readers. I love them so much ;A;
The small income I get from it.

Everything from 1-5 keep changing spots in what motivates me most, but 6 stays on the low. I didn't begin drawing to earn money in the first place, I could never have imagined I'd make a single cent ever, and it's never going to be the main reason I do what I do.

I really love my story. That doesn't mean I always love working on it. There are times I'd rather do ANYTHING but work on my comic. So that's when I go for the second reason:
Other people read/like my story. I have a folder for my bad days called "Motivation". It's right next to the folders that contain everything for the comic. When I started my comic, I decided to keep track of all of the positive comments and feedback it received. Now I have possibly hundreds of screenshots of people commenting about how much they enjoy reading the comic, plus some fanart and other messages. Sometimes it is super easy to forget all of the positivity you've received about your project when a page or chapter isn't going well, so I've made sure to get a record of all these interactions to remind myself! <3

I'm inspired mostly by my wife. She is my number one fan, which is really cool because I get to show her my work before anyone else, and she also sits with me and gives me ideas, or just tells me to slave away making more comics. The content in my work is mostly stuff that happens at home, or things I daydream about doing/wanting.

For me it's because reading and writing have always been important to me and I want to create all of the time, but more than that, comics and writing and art got me through some hard times by making me laugh and just feel something outside of myself. If something I do could have that impact on even one person, I'd be happy, so even if I feel like I want to quit (cuz goodness knows this is hard to keep up with sometimes), I don't because I keep the few readers that I have in mind.

The fact that I have readers. Like, random strangers who reads my stuff that's not some form of fan art. As someone who have been doing fan stuff for years, that is something mind blowing.

Number 1 reason would be that "one specific scene" that I'm working towards to.
I always come up with stories by scenes that goes through my head and most of the times it's in the 'middle' and never a beginning of a story. Haha xD

Nr.2 would be the goal of bringing emotions out of people. I guess in a way, it connects with nr.1. Making people feel something because of my creations is often one of the thoughts I have when I suddenly lose motivation.

I've been drawing my comics since 2010 and managed to do 300+ pages and still going. I want to keep going because it's not the common/popular type of story. I want to keep going because it is different from the rest. And more importantly, because I feel better when I draw it. Drawing my story relieves stress. ^u^

My reason for finishing a comic is to actually have a finished comic. I've always waste hundreds of comic pages because I never go back to finish them.
Mainly because I start a new one and so on. instead of just reading manga online I found a website just for creators who shares their work to the world, (Inkblazers) before it shut down.
So I followed the artist here. Most of them stopped or just dissappeared over time. And that reminds me of me. Why would I put all that work into a story only to trash it? Well no more I'm going to finish my works even if it takes years to do.

Bruhhbruhhh, I feel you. I also have a hard time trying to make a beginning and the story in between to get to that 'scene'. I think I've changed the prologue like 2-3 times already and still not satisfied. I'm still thinking of redoing it again.
