I also use Blambot's Anime Ace, sometimes Digital Strip. Another option is VTC Letterer Pro. But ultimately, I'd like to make and use my own font and share it absolutely free.

Indeed! Generally, I like Love Triangles in comedies since it can be a powerful source (sometimes the only source) of conflict. When it's not a comedy, then I'd rather the characters involved be strong, or at least believable.

agreed; 800 wide should be ok. i also use a 4-panel format and i've played around with the dimensions until I settled with 700x2300 px (that's just my preference since I like my panels cozy and the overall file size light).

Strange. On Amazon, it says its compatible with Mac OS X: 10.7 or higher. Or maybe you can get a more recent model?

This might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V63B4orLiQ8 The video owner says he uses a Logitech b910 webcam. Check out his channel for samples of his work. Good luck!

my characters have made a pact among themselves to drive me insane if I don't tell their story. laughing

Thanks Vikiro! smile I read on their forums that Gamemaker is coming up with a new version eventually so they had a license sale last year. If you want to tinker with Gamemaker again, a free (but limited) version is still available on Steam. If pixel art is more your thing, you could also check out…

Yeah! And the skills you learn just keep improving to the point where you can create your own video game if you wanted. I really like video games and the technology to create them keeps getting better. The coding and the workflow for both industries is similar (at least for small projects). …

Alrighty, I definitely will! smile Thanks! Your "Drawling Moments" is really cool! Thanks PJ! It's really awesome and brave of you to write an autobio webcomic.

Thanks Steven! Followed you back on Twitter. smile

Did you use RPG Maker for the game you tried to make? Nice to meet you too! Your webcomic is so nice! I love how the first pages were purely visual and without dialogue. It's a very lovely approach. smile

Hi Achille! Ultimately, there will also be a Dragons By Design video game. Sometime later this year when I have more time and resources. laughing Making a basic website is easy to learn and a good step into learning how to code. But managing websites, is lot more complicated. You can start learning how t…

Hi Riko! I know what you mean about being neglectful of games. The last games I played was Terraria and Team Fortress 2. I haven't played either since I started my webcomic. No regrets, though. laughing Good luck with your job! I know working in the game industry can be very stressful, but the perks can …

Thanks Nelson! Followed you back on Twitter. Your webcomic looks awesome! Really loving the painterly colors and Franqui's design. smiley

Hi! How's it going? I'm Kenny and like you, I can't get enough of reading and making comics. smile I used to make web sites for a living. Then I got interested in making RPG and platform video games. Now, I'm making a webcomic about video game development, but with dragons! laughing Incidentally, if you'd li…

Happy to help! smile Share the link for your tumblr webcomic. smile

If you will continue mirror hosting on Tumblr, you may want to give this theme a try: Simple Webcomic Theme Good luck! Your "preview" music sounds cool, btw.

You can also buy your domain for about $9 (a year), then have it point to tumblr site. This way, you get free web hosting via tumblr now and you still have the option to get a dedicated web host later on. Alternatively, you could get a domain for your own name, and use a subdomain to your webcomi…

I totally understand what you mean. I saw your webcomic and using The Sims before Sketchup does seem to be the most efficient way to create your series. Its a good fit since the setting of your story is an urban one. But won't you have copyright issues for using The Sims assets?

honestly, i think you already have your idea. use your setup: a kid has an upcoming chemistry exam that he is studying quite seriously to pass. then make an inciting incident: an experiment he is working on goes wrong and: a) he turns into altered being with super powers. b) he creates an altered …

If you can use Sketchup, go for it. In the long run, it will save you time and effort as you can recycle assets like rooms and props. Fair warning, though: using a 3D tool like Sketchup is very time-consuming as well. If your goal is to learn new things and if you're using Manga Studio, the Perspe…

Open Broadcaster Software aside from screen recording, it supports livestreaming too. smile

Agree with @cryoclaire. I use MS5 for perspective drawing too. There lots of great YouTube tutorials on how to use its perspective tools. You can also search for free perspective grids that you can print out and use as templates. Good luck!

Happy Holidays! My webcomics' current story arc isn't set during Christmas yet, so I made this image instead. smile [image] Cosplayer Aya from Dtagons By Design

Yoga or Pilates. I've been spending too much time sitting in front of the laptop that my back feels like its about to fold and crumple. laughing

oh, don't worry about that. all artists have that fear. it's a good thing if it pushes you forward. laughing as you mentioned, start with a one-shot to get your feet wet before you swim over the deep end. smile

Totally agree with your preference to have a good working relationship with your artist. Some of my favorite comic creators are invested in their characters and it shows in their work. But as @Kaykedrawsthings said, it's very hard to find that relationship. Scott McCloud also echoes this sentiment i…

Both coffee and tea for me, too. But for staying awake, I fear the effects of caffeine on me may have diminished from having drinking too much. smiley
