Inksgiving is a support even where members of the tapas community are encourage to support creators with ink. Each event we try to reach a goal the last being, i think, 5 million drops of ink given.

The next event is Spring Inksgiving (or Sprinksgiving as some folks wished to call it) which will be held later this May

Ink can only be given to folks who have support activated but because it's an even you can also email michaelson to have it activated on your account. but as he'd mentioned elsewhere he does them on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

hope this helps

Already have good answers, but here's me over explaining all the details just in case:

Creators can unlock the Support Program when they reach 250 subscribers. The Support Program allows tapas users to tip creators with what the site calls "ink". Ink can also be used to unlock premium series. Ink is essentially just what the site uses as currency, and tapas users can buy ink or earn it by watching ads. Ink is just a cute name for money, so when you give, say, 1000 ink to a creator, that is something like $1 in the creators account. When creators reach a threshold of $25 in their account (includes ad revenue) they can have it sent to their bank.

Ink events like InksGiving and Sprinksgiving are ways the site promotes the idea of tipping creators and generally getting everyone in the giving spirit. Typically there is a goal for the total ink tipped by everyone on the site, and if we reach X goal we will get 10% of the ink we tipped back to us, and if we read Y goal we get 30% back, etc. Basically save up your ink for an event, then tip like crazy, so you'll get "cash back" to tip without having to watch ads or spend more of your own money!

If you want to participate in the even but don't have 250 subs this is a rare chance to e-mail michealson and get tipping unlocked early!

Support = Creators can be tipped
Giving Ink = Tipping
Ink = money

Thank you so very much!!!!!! Truly. To all. Much appreciated. I'm still not even a month into this and it has been such an amazing first two week experience joining this community. I even broke 150 views (which may not be much to others) but for my novel I am very happy on :cry:Such a supporting community! I want to help as much as possible.

Email sent!! Thanks again everyone! I hope this post can help others like me who didn't understand or just confused themselves. Much Love To You All!!!!

Glad to help!

Here's some tipping related advice from a very experienced and successful comic creator on the site:

Not everything in the above may be applicable to you, but its good food for thought. I don't do an on going reward system as Vincent does, but offering rewards during events like this one can be super helpful to getting those followers you do have to tip!

Best of luck

Thank you again!!! I will have to figure out what will work best as I am doing a novel and I have no artistic anything in me.....

But another creator created my first ever fan art which was amazing T.T Sorry off topic... Just my little rant.

you could maybe provide a bonus chapter from one of your writing projects? Maybe something alternate universe or a short side story if it's possible?

The ideas are applicable, you just have to think of your own rewards. And it might not be very useful until you've grown bigger anyway. It's just a good thing to keep in mind.

However an easy award is to include users that tip X amount during the event in a thank you message at the end of the chapter. Early pages, short stories/side stories are some examples of bigger possible rewards. And they could be group goals, such as "If I get 10,000 ink during the event I'll release a special side story about a X character!" Or it could be anyone who tips a certain amount gets an e-mail of the story so it's tipper exclusive.

These are just examples of non-art specific rewards. I'm sure you'll think of stuff that suits you specifically. :+1:

That's not really possible with my story currently because its something that I'm leaving important details out because some people think its one thing then another while I have a totally other thought and I love making people wonder. My feedback on some is that they like that nothing is fully out yet. It's just following this guys life and no one has nailed what my real purpose thats happening.

OH!!!!! That's actually a really good idea!!! And gives me several good ideas!! I will definitely get to thinking and see what I can come up with!!! Thank you!

I believe Inksgiving is a lot like Nirvana; many have heard of it, few have arrived there.
