For me, I like an ending that really closes the book. If it is part of a series and you're on book one, I like to see a lil spook in there, a cliff hanger. Like something is wrong and maybe the MCs haven't figured it out yet.
For me, I actually like happy(ish) endings. Sometimes I'll make it a happy-sad moment, where it is good in reality but sad in the moment. Per example, MC in my last novel lost her mom, but she got to see her go to heaven for the last time.
In the one I am writing right now, I won't spoil it, but I would say that the ending won't be rushed. Rather, I plan on making sure that things are settled, every situation has an end. From side characters/stories to MCs and their endings, I want to make sure there is a wrap on everything and there are no questions to be left (besides hypothetical ones where the readers have theories on certain aspects).
