What is Your Endgame?

20 years from now...I'll look back and be insanely proud and shocked that I was even able to complete my webcomic XD
I would love to see it published though and turned into an animated series someday...that be cool.

I don't really have an end game.
The only future I see is struggling with my comic till my health issues catch up with me and kill me.

I guess the best I can hope for is for one day to believe I don't complete suck at this.

20 years from now, I think I'd be far along in a few of my comics and finished some others! I think a pipe dream for me would be an accurate adaptation, whether it be an animated series (I'd LOVE for it to be a cartoon) or live action. But I'm also content with my works being say, found in the back of the bookstore that someone picks up and likes even if it's been several years since I worked on it I think ultimately I'd want them to end up being timeless in some way, shape, or form!

I get it. I want to keep writing as long as I can but who knows what my dream or health will be even in a year or five years even.

My endgame is as many people have said already. To eventually have it be animated hopefully my a big name like studio MAPPA or Studio Wit, their works have been incredible and I would honestly really love it if they worked on something like mine. But as things are 20 years into the future is incredibly far and no one will ever know what lengths they reach in that time.

Hmmm, I'm hoping to be done with most of my comics by then. I've got a big list of stories I'd like to finish, so that would probably be my goal. It'd be nice if one of those stories became animated, got a movie, or hell -- even an audiobook/fandub would be cool. But it's no biggie if that doesn't happen.

I do hope once 20 years past, I'll still enjoy writing comics and sit back to re-read the stories I've finished.

MAOR being printed into 3 thick premium looking manga format volumes, whether i would be able to mass print for my future buyers or just 3 for myself. It's a realistic goal as long as i keep working on it with care.

The endgame for Blue Star Rebellion is for it to wrap up in maybe five years, with a tangible hook through to the beginning of its parent story, Dragonfeathers. The story of Dragonfeathers will then eventually find its way back to the moment of that hook in its 4th or 5th arc.

As for Dragonfeathers, it doesn't have an endgame. I'm pretty sure I'll be inventing new stories in that universe my whole life. If I can't keep drawing them, I'll write. That said, Arc 1 of Dragonfeathers would be a good story for an animated adaptation, so the endgame for Arc 1 could be TV animation.

I intend to print all of these stories, initially on my own, but potentially through a publisher someday. I want to be able to hold them in my hands, sell them at conventions, and beat my friends and family over the head with them until they read them.

I do want to work with book publishers in the middle-grade/YA graphic novel world, so regardless of whether it's my own stories they're publishing, or if I'm being paid to illustrate the stories of other people, working within the publishing world is an endgame of sorts as well.

Honestly my endgame when it comes to my series is to just have people enjoy them. Having comics, animations, etc would be fine. But in the end I just want people to read them and enjoy their time with anything I've written.

An animation would be cool, but honestly I don't know if that's a good idea. I get easily stressed with too much attention, I'm too thin-skinned to mean critics . I dream of a small contained fanbase. Seeing some fanart, fanfic and maybe cosplay.

But the real endgame to me would be to get a plushie of my mascot:

I wouldn't need anything else in my life.

more than anything i'd want to still be able to find joy in my creations but as for the works I've got published right now they're all mostly experiments and me figuring out how i want to present my future projects though for my slice of life comic Gekkering I wouldn't mind having compiled my personal favorite episodes into a sort of collection for physical print (similar to what mondo mango, sarah's scribbles or bluechair have done).

As for future projects, mainly just finishing them since there's a lot i want to do. Physical print or some kind of digital zine would also be nice but I've also had in the back of my mind wanting to see animated adaptations or games. It's...a stretch to say the least since I'm not always the most motivated person and comics are often a very long game but that's probably the most i can really see out of it.

Looking forward really is a challenge but I hope all of us manage to find a little more clarity as we carry on

For the stories I have now, I'd just like to see fan art and fan fiction and fan theories. That kind of stuff to see that my stories are actually really moving people enough to get fandom around them. That's a nice endgame for any of the work I make this early in my career.

(I really want people to make Gay Gatsby fan theories, please, I put so many small details in that book)

Right before covid hit we had meetings planned with animation studios who were interested in one of my works and since then both my partner and i have started on other works that I think we could probably get that same level of attention on. Animation isn’t really either of our endgames though but there’s more money in animation than there is in comics so we just want to get what we can out of that to keep us financially stable enough to continue churning out the comics we want to make and help other people make em too.

Right now we’re doing okay financially both working on comics full time and hope to start working on making our own lil family next year??? Maybe???

And to do that and milk this for all it’s worth I’ve basically just been working on as many comics and ideas as possible. I think my endgame would be completely unsustainable if I only worked on the one comic.

The only thing I'd really, really love would be seeing my comic traditionally published in my own native language there's only a handful of comic publishers over here and some won't even take long series. Standards for getting published are also extremely unclear (like, bigger publishers want things they know will sell a ton of copies BUT won't take anything that has already been published online YET a bunch of comics I see published nowadays actually feature characters that were previously seen in webcomic form?) and more often than not the only way to get published is to "know the right people". Still, would love to be one of the lucky few who get their comic published one day ;_;

Other than that, hopefully 20 years from now I'll be done with my current comic and will have at least one/two more long form comics under my belt, lol.

both of my stuff is fan-comics, but it would be cool for them to be recognized by the owners of swtor and new gods respectively. I also would have loved to see Bestia's Wrath as a 2D animated series.
