These are all super short. But they are such gems.

Breakfast on the Grass is an interesting take on a similar famous painting. I remember reading an article analyzing the symbolism and allusions of the film -- something about the struggle for some sort of utopia or ideal -- but I can't find it now. You'll have to guess the meanings of each segment yourself.

Provincial School is just plain fun to watch. I love the zany character designs.

A gorgeous Russian version of the Little Mermaid.

Shooting Range - a Soviet cartoon which seems to be criticizing capitalist US.

Rejected - I love Hertzfeldt's work and I still find this funny years after seeing it. If you want his more serious animation, check out "It's Such a Beautiful Day" on Netflix.

And an incredible adaptation of Kafka's A Country Doctor.

I saw Wolfsong a few months ago and it made me quite sad! Very well done.

There's another film by the same artist, which also made me cry, called "Tiny Nomad."

Most of his films really tug at your heart ;w;

I just wanna share this with everyone, here's a little project of the master Hideaki Anno: Japan Animator Expo, it's been going since last year, every week they release a short animated film made by a different director, you probably may remember the ME! ME! ME! video, yes, it's part of the project and this version it's different from the original music video (just to name one of the titles they have done)

Every title is different I recommend them to any fans of animation or films in general Oo.oO , you can view them all over the internet but I'll share the official page, why?, coz you got behind the scenes stuff, like concept art for each title, quite amazing!

Ah, you shouldn't have asked me this, because every one of my favorites is depressing in some way. XD

This first one is technically part of an anime anthology called "Robot Carnival" (whole movie's pretty cool too), but it's a short nonetheless. It's called "Presence", and I still stand by it being one of the best animes ever, short or not.

Yup, that line as he transforms into Vincent Price is great~ Also really like "You’re not Vincent Price, you’re Vincent Malloy / You're not tormented or insane, you're just a young boy / You're seven years old and you are my son." It just is funny yet sad that his mother is scolding him and how she says it~
