What is your main reason or passion for drawing your comic

Lots of comic book artists and mangaka have their different reasons for making their comic, artists like Tite Kubo of Bleach has said he enjoys drawing cool looking things, Oda Eichiro of One Piece seems to be the kinda guy that enjoys making different interesting worlds and Hiro Mashima of Fairytail says he makes it since he enjoys the idea of what people call family, so what's your own reason for drawing your comic, something that gives you your passion to keep downing ink on your artwork
In my case I love making awesome fight scenes and that was my main driving reason to make my comic THE LAST SAMURAI at first before I started thinking of other factors to improve on so its basically what gives me my passion to draw my comic

Honestly, my main reason that I work on Who is The Girl is that I want to find out what happens to the characters. They have been bopping around my head for ages and ages and I was finally able to pay attention to what they had to say and what they were all about.

I like exploring many of the themes and similar things through creative expression that I try to work into most of my stories. When I first started out, almost no one ever told any stories at all about incubi...only succubi, and demons were regarded as invariably evil or corrupt. So I thought it would be interesting to provide a juxtaposition in my work, which is often a little subversive.

If I can communicate through my work that it's okay not to think the way "everyone else" seems to think, and get people to question some things they may have assumed on fairly flimsy justification (or none at all) then I feel like I've succeeded in some way!

SPIRE started out as an au where my robot oc Cog got an upgraded body instead of staying in her 20 year old obsolete one. (i'd say spoiler warning but the placeholder name when i was planning it was literally upgrade au?) The whole comic came from my two characters Cog and William who I entered in an OCT last year. I lost at round 4 and it wasn't my best story or comic work at all. I ended up creating a lot of lore around the place they came from and my comic is kind of a way to give them and their world the story they deserve instead of just leaving off on an overly rushed and badly written tournament arc.

Also my comic gives more structure to my daily life and the motivation I get from finishing pages is kinda keeping me alive lmao

I grew up with acute anxiety and as a result I found it near impossible to make friends. I created a bunch of superheroes, as you do as a kid, and these characters and their stories kept me company throughout this time. When I became ill recently I knew I'd need something to keep me busy, so I came back in to webcomics and felt I needed to breathe life in to these old friends of mine as a big thanks. The result was Heroes of the World and Beyond.

One of my main reasons for working on Wednesday 7 is to kind of do a psychoanalysis of myself in a way? All my characters are different reflections of my character and personality, and I think that goes for a lot of comic creator. As I watch where my characters go and grow, I go and grow with them! (Hope that makes sense)

I've always had an itch to draw and also an itch to tell stories, trying many different mediums to do so. I always come back to comics, it's been a love of mine since I was a tiny fellow. Just gotta create to satisfy my soul.
This particular story I'm telling in my comic H.M.M. is something that's really haunting me and I must let it out. It eventually gets into ugly aspects of our world and I can't help but tackle it cryptically through a comic.

i mean, my main drive is essentially passion for the story, and passion for comics. i love everything about the medium. also, like, haha, the more experience i get in webcomics the easier itll be if i manage to go professional (still figuring out how to do that tho)

its also a good motivator for the book version that im writing, bc it gives me serialised deadlines to get stuff done by.

I'm really young and I hope to go into comics in the future. I figured why not do one now? So my main drive is just to prove that I can do it! I guess it's not the coolest reason...

I also have trouble committing to projects, so I'm working on a longer comic (about 150-200 pages) to try and improve that aspect of myself.

My main drive for making my comics is to give my characters a sense of backstory and character development as the comic's story progresses. I've had a majority of my characters for years and I believe drawing a comic to show how they behave seems to be the easiest approach for me.

In an artist perspective, I strive to keep improving, so I feel like making comics is also a great way to do that and try new things!

Um, boredom mostly. I don't have a lot to do with my time really... and out of a feeling of obligation because, hey, I've been at this for two years so why stop now? ^^

Mainly because I love it, obviously. I want to make a story I'd personally love to read, and hope others do as well. Comics are my way to express myself, and I like to think I'm good at it. Thanks to websites like Tapastic people can easily find and follow my story, and hopefully by comic if it ever gets published.

Interesting question. For my current comic, Godrilla, I'm drawing it to get a handle on making comics digitally. However, my general passion when it comes to creating comics is that I would like to tell the sorts of stories that appeal to the kid in me.

I was "reading" comics before I could ever actually read, and the sorts of adventures and drama that would unfold on the printed page left such an impact on me then, that I have always wanted to recreate that experience for someone else.

For me it was to keep doing art every day. When I went into college I actually took a four year hiatus form drawing I didn't even doodle! It was pretty bad and I missed drawing so much, but unfourtunatly at the time between two jobs and 5 college classes a semester my inspiration and motivation to draw was kind of killed. Thats why I started Kings I promised myself I would never stop myself from drawing again and since then I've started regaining all the skill that I lost during that time.
