What job offer would your MC find impossible to decline, and why? (drop your links too)

I kind of miss the times when there would be tons of interesting promotion games, so I might as well start something myself!
Since my own comic starts off with one of the main characters accepting a questionable job offer, I thought that would be an interesting thing to think about. What is the kind of job that your character would take on immediately, without asking any questions? Does it have anything to do with their skills? Do they have very strong values or interests that this job aligns perfectly with? Maybe they want this job because of some special circumstances they’re in? Or is it just about the salary or vacation time? Share your thoughts and drop your links so that anyone interested can give your story a read.
As for my own comic, Mina accepts a job offer from the army to be a nurse. She isn’t passionate about medicine nor did she participate in any education or training in the field, but she wants to do it anyway so she can see her brother, who is currently in the army. Something about this job offer just doesn’t seem right though, and Mina might have to face something much more sinister than broken syringes and sweaty bandages…

Veronica's a tough one, it's easier to think of jobs she wouldn't do than jobs she won't refuse. She wouldn't refuse nearly any job that came her way because she's that kind of a person.

One job she would leap at would be an internship at a national park. Basic work in a large nature preserve would suit her pretty well, although strange stuff would undoubtedly happen.

Alternatively, a job doing tarot and astrology would go well for her.

Claudita is more like a hit man and healer combined. Because she has both offense (speed, flight, twin swords she summons out of thin air, kiai blasts, stat redistribution - using spirit energy to boost strength) and defense abilities (healing, energy barrier)

Personality wise... she's calm, stoic, compassionate. Very much protective bleeding heart type if she didnt have the mental discipline that restrains it.

Also very good at psychological manipulation. Her facial expression isn't always her true emotion.

If her primary mission is to send demons back to hell... she's like... an ICE agent? gotta deport those demons from the earth plane since you cant technically "k!ll" a demon.

So any job within the scope of her abilities and personality.

For my main character Kari, a job she would never refuse is to be a lone over night guard at a candy vault. Though strangely most of the "valuables" would seem to be missing the next morning. Odd, since there wasn't any sign of break ins.

@kyupol Noooo I refuse to believe that someone as kind-hearted as Claudita would want to work as an ICE agent. Looking at her other skills and attributes though, I feel like she could be a good therapist. In a way, that’s also someone who fights demons

@minamii I don’t know of anyone who would refuse this job… Though to be fair, the employer would notice over time and probably take her keys away, lol.

Kenny would never give up on a job as a travelling medic or healthcare agency especially if it is a program targetted for children in less fortunate countries

Lane would absolutely join a physics research and outreach program on newfound renewable energy.

I'm imagining what kind of job my characters would go for if they lived in the real world.

Kagemusha would be an EMT. He has medical knowledge and a desire to help people.

Freja would become a proffessional in mixed martial arts or some othe contact sport. She's scrappy and very athletic. I'd imagine she would try to put them to good use

Kasus is the loremaster, so he would be a proffessor of history in a university.

Navaroth would be a detective. It's basically what he's in the story.

Mirael is too disillusioned with the system to join the police. She's be something like a civil rights attorney instead.

The Imp would be an amazing butcher. I can imagine them just grabbing a cow and making a beautiful kebab with it in seconds, oh my God.

Blood market cashier, haha.

My MC, Keelin, dreams of being a storyweaver (someone who writes stories and they come to life), but she’s in a difficult family situation and would do anything to make money so she can buy writing supplies and/or run away from home.

Blood markets aren’t usually places people jump at the opportunity to work at. Even though it’s a modern-like society, vampires are still looked at with fear, even if they’re accepted into the general public. Not to mention the markets are only open at night, haha.

Doctor

my MC is such a soft-hearted person who'd rather suffer than see others suffer. He would love the idea of being able to help as many people as he can.
though it gets people to take advantage of him but even if they do, he pretends to be oblivious because he thinks "they must have a reason for it."
bro's emotional intelligence is higher than the mountains.

Mi'kael is a pretty simple guy. Before everything went wrong for him, he pretty much would've wanted a job that could keep him as close as possible to his love interest, Aeris. A lover boy at heart you could say, lol.

Since he's pretty much an Heir to the Seraphane, who have enough resources and funds to not worry about the food they eat or the clothes they wear, even the simplest Corporate Job would be enough for him.

He's a simple man, never asks for much, and wants to enjoy life as much as possible.

But after the events he went through, he became a changed man. Smiling became harder for him, and he constantly feared for the fact that he'd lose the ones he comes to love.

Now however, the Job he'd most likely take would be one would be one where he could take his mind off of the things he's been through.

I'd probably say, a primary school teacher. During one of the events of the story, he sacrificed his own cover to protect a child from harm. He values innocence greatly because he lost his own at a very young age. Plus he's very good with kids. Despite his dark and brooding personality, he never shows that side to the little ones. He acts almost like how he used to be.

Ever has actually considered what sort of job they'd want instead of the one they currently have (and hate greatly). They dislike having to interact with people in general and even just getting out of bed most days...
If someone offered them a job where they could get paid to just lay around, they wouldn't ask any questions about it other than when they can start. Doesn't matter how shady it might seem...

Not the main MC but Birger Bramblewood, a Lumen elf from a Nordic inspired clan, would most definitely be a doctor. I mean... he's technically already a physician in the story, but in a modern setting he would most definitely sign up to be a doctor.

For 30000+ years he treated elves, so I can imagine that if he were to treat humans, he would be hypervigilant. Elves can suffer from illnesses that could span years. A human, however, can go from well to sick in a span of days (depending on what they have). I can see him definitely reaching out to his human patients over a missed appointments regarding both strange lumps, infections, sudden pains etc...

Why would Birger take on such a job? He is always willing to help people while learning about new things in the medical field. Just because he is 30000+ years old, doesn't mean he can't learn something new to help his patients. Another answer is also because healing people is all he knows since he's been doing it for so long.

Wow! It's interesting if we think from such a perspective, though not always but a lots of time a story starts once the mc takes on a task, not really a job but any task!
The mc of my story is very_tempted to work as a author.

This is a fun idea! It's also funny for me because this is how my novel (actually a writing x comic fusion) starts off, too. Hi-five!

My main character, Gavrill, starts the story by coming home after being wrongly imprisoned for 10 years. In exchange for his freedom, he becomes a mercenary for a secret organisation that hunts down cosmic horrors, and the only way out of the organisation is through dead. So he's pretty much stuck in there until he kicks the bucket, but it's worth it because he also took this job for the sake of seeing his family!

His three children did grow up for 10 years without him though, so they're pretty estranged. One of them is even already an adult. So the whole story is about Gavrill trying to balance reconnecting with his three kids, while trying not to die to The Horrors at work, while also trying not to bring his trauma from work to home. (Unfortunately, the last part is ineveitable.) It's not all grim though: it's a blend of wholesome family slice-of-life with tragedy and hurt/comfort.

Your comic sounds really interesting! I gave it a quick peek and I love your art style (I like the colours and textures!). It's also really cool that both of our stories are historical, too. (Well, my story's set in 2017, but there are arcs of flashback to historical conflicts Gavrill grew up in!)
