What kind of comics/novels do you want to see?

Just curious to know what genres, stories, and art styles readers hope to find. Feel free to link a story you find interesting!

For me, I'm currently into fantasy, adventure, action.
I love being completely immersed in a fantasy world and admiring distinct art of items unique to that world, or it were a novel, being captivated by incredible worldbuilding. Adventures such as a group journeying across perilous lands, overcoming obstacles, bonding together, and growing as a result of their encounters. Action for the thrill and adrenaline rush which I'm too scared to get from doing risky stunts like bungee jumping, parachuting. I am awfully bad with heights, haha ( >w< )''

I'm also sort of into bittersweet romance and tragedies because those remind me that I have a heart XD

Things that turn me off are characters, utility-items, or superpowers that appear outta nowhere without any justifiable reason just to fuel the plot and later get discarded. Love everything in your story from the annoying buzz of a fly that prompts your shut-in character to step outside for the first time in a while to that single random tree you drew in the background.

I'm not sure I really gravitate toward a particular genre. I like stories that manage to include a variety of things in a compelling and interesting way. I also 100% agree with you about introducing random concepts only to never have them be explored later on being a major turn off.

At the same time, I love suspense and love it when things aren't explained right away. It keeps me curious and invested and I'll be like "Hm, that seemed random. I'm curious how that will tie into things later." Its like trying to put together a puzzle and I'm a sucker for anything that makes me want to theorize why said idea was included in the first place. Hopefully that made sense lol, basically I like it when things seem random and irrelevant only to come back later and be like 'Eyyy whaddup lmao'.

Memorable and complex characters, good description (for novels), and just overall knowing how to write are super important to me and are things I try to pay attention to in my own work, but I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement.

I'm always trying to push GL to new heights I feel the entries we have a often very weak and are nothing but pure romance. I think if you look at my body of work you'll see a clear push toward pushing GL into more niche genres. Its what I like to read and its frustrating how BAD attempts at doing this before have been.

I'm a very basic person in this aspect, I'm a sucker for a good romance. Especially a fantasy romance. My favorites often have cliff-hangers that leave me dying until the next update, but also make me bust a gut laughing sometimes.

I love me a good action-adventure story~. But I guess what I most want to see is...more action-adventures where the shipping takes a backseat. Like, way, WAY in the back.

It really annoys me when a new cute/handsome/cool character comes in and hardly 2 panels go by before the MC 'accidentally' falls into their lap, or gazes longingly at them from across a crowded dance floor.

That kind of fast-and-furious shipping is the fans' job, IMO. I prefer it when a writer gives us a chance to get to know and appreciate a new character before joining them at the hip to an established one. They should be able to have an identity that doesn't start and end with '[insert character]'s mysterious crush.'

More comedy comics that are actually funny.
None of those comics where the jokes are so bad that it's funny, those are pitiful.
None of those comics where humor is based on self-deprecating humor, those are just sad and depressing.
I want something that's funny, like Gintama.
