Hello all, It was a few years ago I made my very own topic in this forum. It is nice to meet you all again !
Someone might already have asked a question like this before. Please notify me of this in that case !
My question is: What made you decide to draw your comic? For fun? Because you felt like you couldn't express yourself like you wanted to through words in a novel/book type format? Did it just fit the type of story/delivery better?
There are many different answers, some may be simple, some may have a complex, deep background. Please tell me yours, if you wish !
I'll start the icebreaker :
You can skip this part if you're not interested.
A bit over ten years ago I started writing something I hoped could be a book one day. I wrote as often as I could, and fleshed out a story that I was fond of. Eventually I started to get very self conscious, as English isn't my primary language, and I had some issues learning it. I read through the earlier pages of my story and noticed... This is really, really bad, it is not enjoyable, completely incomprehensible, and didn't convey my story to the extent I was hoping to, and the way I imagined it in my head.
So one fateful day 10 or 9 years ago I said, "heck it", and decided that I would go ahead and draw the story. Problem was, I couldn't draw either . So many stubborn years later, I feel like I have gained a better enough knowledge to at least get started. I still expect myself to better myself, and provide better content. Especially seeing as I've restarted my comic once. But this time I feel like I have a better ground to start from .
Some days I second guess myself. Maybe learning some proper English and writing my story could have been easier? I'll never know, but in the end I don't ever regret the path I chose. I love being able to illustrate my world, showing everyone what's going in inside of my head
If you read through all of that, thank you !
Now I pass this topic onto you !
