What makes you comment?

I usually post a comment out of curtsey , anything that's on my mind about the comic, even if it's a simple "<3". Because I know comments hold higher appreciation to creators than "Likes" (I also give a like too 6w6). I also do this to follow the "do for other which you want done for you" motto, atleast in pitiful hopes to bring up a louder community of readers. Comics that I'm more invested in I will habitually comment on most-to-every page to show that I am a living-active reader supporting the creator's work, because, well, it's difficult imagining the appreciation of a silent reader on the other side.

I post longer comments sometimes to comics to episodes I find extremely touching (only if I have time though).

As a creator, I LOVE receiving comments. It shows that readers actually look at your work. Even if it is a criticism (constructive) I appreciate every single note someone leaves. Then I try to do my best to reply and start a convo if warranted.

I'm just a regular joe, just like everyone else - making a comic for your eyeballs, and hoping you enjoy it. No ego trip or anything like that. So feel free to chat me up at anytime.

I believe that's the only way i can communicate with the people who liked my comic/manga and getting feedback's from them.

If it's one thing about us artists, we can't help but love recieving adulation for our work, as well as constructive feedback.

The comments I usually leave tend to deal with craft. Lately I've been reading a few of comics where the lettering style changed and I've left notes on how it works in comparison to the old style of lettering.

I usually comment on a comic or a piece of art if it catches my interest, I'm sorry if this sounds shallow. Anyway once I look over a comic or a composition I usually what they did well and sometimes what they can improve on. As an artist myself know how much a comment can mean to someone so I try to be careful with what I say.

LOL I feel the same way sometimes. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I'll think that I'll seem like a creeper if I comment on EVERY post of a comic I enjoy. However, I'm starting to get over myself a little bit. If someone had something interesting to say about my comic I'd want them to do no matter how many times, so I tend to keep that in mind and comment a little freely.

Definitely! In the end there will far more people who like the large amount of feedback as opposed to those who won't.

I mostly leave comments when I feel like I have something to say beyond "nice work" or "cool" or something. Something that stands out and that I particularily like on the page. Thing is, I want to leave more comments for comics I like but I can't always find something to say (and that hasn't been said already by other commenters)...

I agree. I understand not finding something to say. I usually don't. However, even if it's just something like "cool" or "nice work" could go a long way to helping someone out even if it's nothing more than just encouraging to them.
