Mrs. Moon used 'darling' quite a lot to. For real she is so superfluously glamorous lol. everyone is referred to as 'darling, my love, mi principe precioso' etc, though her child is a full grown man XD.

Guess our OCs just be extra lol

lol characters that are extra are so fun to write though xD also that’s funny because Lady Lock has an adopted son that’s basically an older teenager and he’s constantly getting called darling despite looking overly serious.

Yeah, extra characters are the best, I have tons of different kinds of extra in my different casts lol. Mrs. Moon is 'glamorous extra.' Melly is 'giddy extra.'

Then in "A Dozen Morning Glories" Scarlet is chaotic chaotic.

And Kitty Kat is just used to his mother at this point. He dealt with it when he was younger, he dealt with it as a teen, now he's living with it as a grown man. She will never not talk to him like he's 3 years old. She has a friend who is 51 who she treats like a teenager, so...

In "A Dozen Morning Glories" Ayla's mother calls her "Lala" and she's going to end up telling Essence she can call her that later on in the story.

In my story Raven, a Shyrian stuck in the heroine's head, tends to give Kiro a lot of nicknames. From Kitten, Little Mortal, dolt, Little Lady, etc anything that will irritate Kiro. His favorite nicknames for her would be Kitten and Little Mortal. Kiro tries her hand at insulting him back but she's not as creative or effective as he is. Another character whom nicknamed Kiro is Luna who has called her My Aan, My Gem, My Star, and others that are themed around precious and light. I will probably add more nicknames but for other characters to make the friendships more apparent.

how is Kitten an insult? My FL calls her boyfriend Kitty Kat all the time, and his mother calls him the same thing as a term of endearment

Um Kitten was at first an insult. He was calling her weak as a kitten, and helpless. But then after a while it's meaning changes between the two of them into a more friendly teasing fashion. I like using words in a different manner. I grew up where teasing and cursing at one another was a form of love language, never meant to hurt or to downgrade. I wanted to show in my story an expression of nicknaming that can seem weird but is actually really meaningful between individuals. I hope that makes sense.

i guess so. you could even use 'cute' as an insult if your context was mean.

yeah, i think that makes sense. me and my siblings like to tease each other a lot too. And weird nicknames can definitely be a thing. I'm just used to kitten being used as a really affectionate term rather than an insult lol

Texas and Chili have lots of nicknames for each other. First of all Chili's real name is "Carter." He usually calls Texas "Callie" because her surname is Callaway, but he also occasionally calls her Pipsweetie (a play on "Pipsqueak") and Blueberry muffin

Myla calls Mylo "Grandpama" - a mixture of Grandma and Grandpa! Just cause Mylo's got silvery hair with pink eyes.

Mylo calls Myla "Dog", just cause Myla's got brown hair and green eyes.

This doesn't count as a nickname, but Therese usually calls Mora names like "Mon choupette" though she's not her 'real' daughter. Mora's bff Mandy calls her Berry, because Mora means blackberry in Spanish.
