This is an interesting topic, because this is so varied. I mean, I know what influences I see in my art, but others might see other stuff.
However, with Grassblades, what people say and what the influences actually are pretty much agree.
People say Blade of the Immortal, Vagabond, Bleach, Avatar the Last Airbender, Lone Wolf and Cub. I've even heard Samurai Jack, though whether that is in terms of the story or the artstyle, I don't know.
What it consciously IS - aside from the above-mentioned (which certainly have influenced me!) there is also Usagi Yojimbo, Hellboy (more in storytelling terms than artstyle), Linda Medley and any
number of Franco-Belgian comics - like Tintin, Asterix, Yakari and Spirou - the latter three mostly in terms of environments, etc. And more manga of every type of genre than you can shake a stick at.
But I have never, at any point, sat down and tried to make my style more like any of these influences. It just sort of happened naturally; I found something I liked, and some aspects of it crept into how I draw things. Derib, the artist of Yakari, draws absolutely gorgeous rocks - and I notice some similarities in how I draw rocks. I'm nowhere near as good as him, but I'm heading in his direction.
