I usually go with reality warping since that pretty much covers everything. Intense drawback, though: one's subconscious has access to the power as well, and one's subconscious is not always sympatico with the conscious >_>.
So, I pick Total Physical Invulnerability. Nothing can do harm to me. Not knives, not bullets, not bombs, cars, viruses, bricks, poisons. Nothin'.
I'd like to have immense superhuman strength to supplement it; if I don't, I'll be pretty well screwed if I get stuck under rubble or buried alive x_x.
I suppose the power I'd like would be Chronokinesis -- the ability to move time in any direction.
Which means I could go back in time or move forward. Though, I would most likely use it to go back in time and correct a few of the mistakes I've done. I wouldn't try to correct all of them because there are some experiences that made me a better person and shaped my maturity.
I think the possible drawback would be going back all the time and not knowing what that can do to the future or to my physical body. I'd probably be real cautious about doing time travel, and would probably only use it if I truly felt I needed to do so. I also wouldn't know how long this could last, so I gotta save things up
As for what I'd change about myself...I'd say better skin and teeth. I've inherited weak teeth and alligator skin from my father, and I have to take SUPER care of both of them. Whenever the cold winter hits in Chicago, my skin just turns into an alligator, and it's far from fun buying up all that lotion. If I could have stronger teeth and better skin, I'd be alright
That was always something I wondered about time travel. If you went back and changed some of the mistakes you made you would still know you made them but the outcomes would just be different so I was wondering if that would be the best. Like experiance the mistake without the consequence.
Also I would change my teeth in a heartbeat. I wanna do youtube stuff or just video stuff in general but my teeth are horrible and I am terrified of showing them to the world o.o
Personally, i would be too paranoid about the butterfly effect to properly enjoy time travel, but i can see why controlling time in some way can be appealing. i think controlling the flow of time of every part my body would be awesome, for example, i could reverse a wound i received, accelerate myself to do things faster,slow-mo myself to do some sick matrix tricks, rewind and advance the time of my body accordingly to stay at the peak of my physical/mental condition and health (and to keep my beard at the optimal size mwahaha!)
But if i had to choose a power(read the next sentence with a bratty kid`s voice) i would choose the power to have every power i want.
The power to refill anything. It could be petty small things that improve my life, or bigger things that could effect the economy or even save lives.
Out of orange juice? REFILL THE GLASS!
Out of gas? REFILL THE TANK!
Out of money? REFILL THE BANK ACCOUNT!
Bleeding out to death? REFILL THE BODY UNTIL AN AMBULANCE ARRIVES!
Imagine that a smart way to utilize a simple power would involve refilling the food bowls of every starving family in a third world country.
The only downside is that you can only refill with whatever was previously in it, and only to the upper limit (no spillage/overflow)
I can only refill my bank account up to it's maximum, whether it's $20,000. 200,000, or 1,000,000. I won't worry about money, but I will never be rich.
If I refill a food bowl, if what was previously in it was garbage, then the magical refill will also still be garbage. They won't get healthy greens out of nowhere.
If I refill an empty water tank, if the water in it was previously contaminated, the refilled water will still be contaminated.
The power to read minds and discern people's heart intent.
To stop me from getting into trouble or taking offense to certain gestures.
If you:
1) talk in a loud obnoxious arrogant manner
2) Do this:
3) Or this:
Those 2 hand gestures more offensive than the middle finger. Interpreted subconsciously. Though I consciously understand that while in America, those hand gestures, loud mouthedness, and cussing are part of everyday language and don't mean aggressive and confrontational behavior.
But subconsciously, I take high offense to that and I'd be bare minimum a passive asshole to you... As in numb tone of voice, stern facedness, chest puffed out, etc... passive indicators I've been slighted and I'm ready for a fight...
and maximum blowing up on you... and you'd be like "wtf what did I do or say to piss him off so badly?"
Got me in trouble with a couple people at my work. /sigh. Now they avoid even looking at me for fear of looking at me the wrong way and pissing me off.
I think for us it would be like seing people using the middle finger to signaling things. I see why it can be confusing after a lifetime of getting used to see certain gestures as rude/hostile.
In which country/countries those gestures are offensive?, just in case i meet someone from that/those countries and to avoid awkward situations.
