What’s a movie you wish got more attention?

What movie do you like that you feel is severely underrated? I have to go with Toys with Robin Williams and Joan Cusack. This movie has awe inspiring visuals and a really great story. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who likes surreal fantasy.

I was not aware that the Breadwinner was from the same director as Secret of Kells or Song of the Sea.

((Okay so he wasn't the director but a producer on it ans it was his studio that made the movie. Then again, still wasn't aware of their involvement. But it explains the style haha.))

I think I remember watching this movie in middle school I’m not sure but it was about a toy shop and there were so many bright colors.
And a kid communicating a guy with a blackboard.

And a lady trying to figure out what to do with a block of wood.

Mr. Bug Goes to Town (aka Hoppity Goes to Town)

I have been in the animation fandom for years and I never heard of this film until I saw fanart by Osamu Tezuka. I guess I am not the only one who had no clue this film even exists despite it being from the 1940s.

The Wiz (1978) is a much better movie than people give it credit for, and it's probably my favorite take on The Wizard of Oz. It's got great costume and set design, great music, and a lot of heart! It's been a minute since I watched the 1939 film, but iirc, this one feels like more of a coherent and complete story (it also uses the world of Oz as a vector for social critique, not unlike Wicked) without losing the magic and whimsy. More than anything, it's fun!

Some of the best cinematography and sound editing I've seen in my lifetime...

The majority of movie watchers in my circle have said "Master and Commander" is 'slow', or 'boring'. In my opinion, this naval war flick is PERFECTLY paced for the most part, slows down (intentionally) for a moment of respite for the protagonists, and then picks up the pace again. The cinematography and sound editing blend beautifully to reinforce a well-crafted storyline with compelling characters, while the story successfully builds tension and anticipation in all the right places.

If you haven't watched it yet, PLEASE DO... and do turn the volume up!!

I went to see it at the movies...and bought it on Blu-ray.

There are a lot of embarrassing and really bad german productions.
Then there are a lot of really well done 2nd world war movies.
The classic silent movies when Germany still had a leading role in
movie productions.

This one is good, it plays in Berlin (where I live 7 years), it´s authentic,
it´s impossible to say what the movie is about, probably just about life.
I know some of the actors and worked with them. It should get more attention imo.
