I've had a gigantic fantasy world existing in my head for over a decade, and I finally decided to get a small piece of it out into reality. I always knew I'd write these stories eventually, but I thought they'd be illustrated novels, not comics; it's only recently that my confidence in my artistic abilities has reached a point where I can say "Actually, you know what, I think they'd be better as comics, and I think I can make that happen.
I do want to make money from this eventually; not necessarily from my current project, but certainly from my next one. That, or work as a paid illustrator for graphic novels from Scholastic, or the big comic houses. I definitely want comics to be my career. But I'm content exploring for now.
I'm absolutely loving making Blue Star Rebellion, too. I figured I'd enjoy myself, but I didn't know I'd love it this much. I wake up so excited to work on it, I get giddy when a panel comes together perfectly, or when I add that one extra line of dialogue which fleshes out a scene, and highlights the personality of the character saying it. And I live and breathe the excitement of people in the comments section when I do something that makes them laugh, or hits them in the feels. This is the perfect medium for me.
