Music inspires me in my writing a lot, what songs, bands, or musicals inspire you? Or alternatively, what kind of music (songs, bands, musicals) really capture the general feel of your work?

Heavy Metal is the soundtrack to my comic. DragonForce, Wage War, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Freedom Call, Iron Savior, Amon Amarth, and many, many others would all be part of my soundtrack. You know. If I could afford the licensing.

I've been really into pop punk, punk rock, and metal stuff lately. I've also been super into bands doing covers of Taylor Swift songs. They're generally better then the originals imo. Fall Out Boy has put out some great covers that I've been jamming to. What music inspires me depends on what I'm working on at the moment? If it's a high energy, fight scene I might pick something with a faster tempo. It really depends.

I make my own soundtrack!. It's inspired by metal and alternative rock, I like too many bands to fit here...
but you can check out all of my songs on youtube1

Well.. I'm mostly listening to Chillstep, Metalcore, Japanese Rock, Anime and Video Game Soundtracks to like.. get myself in a proper writing headspace. A lot of that also happens to be what captures the mood of the comic I'm writing. If I had to pick what could be in my soundtrack though?? There's a lot to go into for that lol for starters, I've made my own OST demos before which you can check out here

But, that's just me making the music myself. If you ask me who else I want to be featured on a soundtrack or score for the comic, then we get into some interesting stuff.

Soundtrack-wise, I'd like to have Japanese artists doing the more rock music seeing as it takes place in Japan. Ling Tosite Sigure, Sokoninaru, Itsue, Heaven in Her Arms, Co Shü Nie, Haruka Nakamura, Asuza Tadokoro, Nujabes, and Aimer are at the top of my list. Black metal, hard rock, pop, hiphop, ambient.. All of these could work as music featured in the comic.

Score-wise, it's a lot easier. I have a top 3 of who I'd want to work on the music. Hiroyuki Sawano, Yutaka Yamada, and Yuki Hayashi. They are my favorite composers in the anime industry as well as inspirations for my own musical work. If I could present ideas to one and have them rebuild it into something more professional, that would be just great lol

My comic is based on a fictional local pizzeria that never updated its décor from the 80's, but since that whole
A E S T H E T I C regained popularity recently they decided to lean into it. As such they play a lot of synthwave and outrun music in the restaurant. Artists like Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Kavinsky, Magic Sword, Lazerhawk, basically anything you'd hear on the Hotline Miami soundtrack.

This is the only song I've included in any of my chapters  I think it's a pretty good song for my series

In my story, it would have Parliment, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Nirvana and hole as the soundtrack

Sound track for my novel would be the glorious music from Danheim, Alpine universe, and other similar artists!

Oh I actually use songs for all of my chapters! It's usually Bring Me The Horizon, LINKIN PARK, BTS, In This Moment, or something random I thought fit

If possible I'd looove to have Two Steps From H*ll (<- not sure if that word is allowed here), or epic orchestra in general for my comic :heart_03:!

I think pretty much this album would be the soundtrack for my novel, or anything else by this band for that matter  It really links in with the Nordic theme and the connections to folklore and mythology.

I dont have a soundtrack really and i honestly dont listen so much to music when I draw (i get to easily distracted lol) but there is one song from Ellie Goulding - Only You, that actually was the inspiration for a very important scene for my comic that is coming much later, i like to sometimes imagine my storys as an animatic and I could just see the scene playing out infront of me to this song

But if I had a soundtrack I think it would have something with the same feeling "of Monsters and Men"s music maybe :notes:

My favorite jams are either extra edgy or extra soppy. The juxtaposition of these two extremes comes out often in my writing. It's because I want to think about and approach how bad things are, while on the other hand I crave something warm and touching to balance out the cold bitterness. Soft music is at times a coping mechanism for when I start feeling disassociated with what I feel is a socially engineered and manufactured culture wherein the dollar is deified above the physical and mental health of the common person.

Funnily enough, I've created a playlist for Vehementia. Most of it is just inspiration while I write, but I definitely imagine most of this working in a soundtrack for my story:
