Oh! Well, if you're talking about the broader issue and the forever long list of things said and/or done by people on seriously crazy power trips, then I misunderstood this discussion. I apologize for the confusion.
The whole Tik Tok thing is definitely a power trip move to pull people from one direction and doing the all so famous finger pointing to other countries/people. This is nothing new, it's been going on for a long time. I seriously doubt they're really thinking about their citizen's privacy, since nothing has been done with their own social media platforms. I was talking as a whole idea of banning it is not a bad thing. I won't even try to get into the politicians head on this. It's a me, myself and I attitude on their end. At least, that's how it's coming across.
What scares me for the United States is how far someone is willing to go to ban anything he doesn't agree with, for his own benefit only. Yes, Tapas is from China and I get why you're nervous about it being banned too. Hopefully, it's not on his radar. I'm more afraid for your newspapers and other media outlets for factual information.
