I already explained how the forum and the discord are totally separate animals and have to be handled differently.
If you don't like the discord, just stay on the forum then.

Yup, I agree, you are right.
Somehow now i understand the difference in the level of civilisation between discord and tapas forum.
After all, I did able to summarise it to the general, both places are with younger minds.
There are differences, there are some similarities too.
Minds are weak for some who can be easily triggered by words and sentences deemed controversial to them.
Now I understand why some authors do not participate in forums and discord.

Idk about recently, but last time I remember seeing a poll on the ages of longer term forum users they they skewed heavily towards middle age. I wouldn't call that younger minds tbh. And it's not about being easily triggered, it's about not wanting people getting heated. Time and place, you know? There's nothing weak minded about wanting a peaceful place to talk about our craft, after all. If you see a fist fight coming, wouldn't you try and stop it? Why's it not the same with words?

Everybody is immature in some way, there are people who enjoy doing that and that's takes a reader to filter what I wanna read.

I'm pretty sure most of us here just came to have fun and talk about comics and novels on the internet. We don't need this crap. The fact that people like causing fights and ruining an otherwise perfectly okay environment confuses and sickens me.

Comics and novels are literature and works of stories.
genres and many and part of it is drama
and without conflicts and controversies how are you going to enjoy a good drama?
The fact about shutting down topics and everyday just say hi, hello, good morning, have peace, is not a good start of conversation. no friction no fireworks.

To be honest, I don't think that comparing the drama in stories to starting drama on the forums is a good idea. Yes, drama can play a key factor in stories and is enjoyable because the reader is a outside person not involved in the drama.

However, when you start drama on the forums and people get swept in it, it is not the same situation because now you and others are involved. It's not fun for either side because now you have to directly deal with the drama instead of just enjoying it from the outside.

That said, you need to keep in mind what the general group of people (or audience if you'd like) is on the forums and/or discord. Most of them are creators, some of them in their 30's and some quite younger.

Either way, these people most likely did not come to Tapas to discuss politics. And while it is perfectly fine to ask people about what they think of certain topics you need to respect that if they do not want to take part in a controversial topic (which can be for a lot of reasons, even private ones) then you do not need to force the conversation upon them. Perhaps that is why the moderators took action.

Tapas is a webcomics/novels platform, so even though there is a discussion board in the form of the forums and a discord it is more geared towards those type of things.
I would suggest to try a different platform to ask your question in this case.

In case I wasn't clear when I said this earlier, the former statement belongs to someone who has a view that embodies a problematic ideal. I hope you understand that you are starting to act like that now. This is also the type of behvaior is what can get you temporarily banned. Is that how you want the mods to take action? To ban you?

If you need drama to have an interesting experience within a community, maybe you have some personal issues that you need sort out. What happened between you and the Tapas Discord has nothing to do with what goes on here in the forums, so please don't take it out on us.

People like me, though, prefer to keep drama to a minimum AND discuss serious problems (and serious problems will always have a controversial side).
The questions are, why are we not able anymore to do that? Discuss serous topics without more than mild drama? Or, why are we unable to deal with that mild drama? Or unable to not click on subjects that we know will upset us?
Yes, we don't want the same drama in forums than in the fictions we write/read, but we should be able to discuss the same topics.
Personally, on these forums, I've very, very rarely saw serious drama due to controversial topics. The most serious problems I saw was the cancelling/bullying/gaslighting of people not positive enough (by other members, but supported by mods). Talk about counterproductive.
But hey, I'm on my way out. The only reason I have difficulties to leave is that there are many great people left here, and that discord at least had the advantage to weed the forum out of most of the positivity police and other gaslighters.

Yup. Apparently posting frogs and toads meant you were against actual NFTs to them. While posting anything else meant you were in support of NFTs. The thread was not about Non-Fungible Tokens, but Nice Frogs and Toads.

I didn't get the game, but sad that it got locked up though. I'm fond of conversation, and honestly forums are better than chats for that, when it comes to well thought out ideas.
