What type of stories do you wish there were more of? This can be a trope that isn’t used often, or character dynamic, anything! I’m really curious to know what others think!

I want more trans MCs as well as asexual characters. I love the more inclusion of LGBQT characters, but I want to see a lesbian and bisexual. I want to find characters that are Trans and gay, I want non binary characters!!

I also want shape-shifting stories. I love werewolves, wendigos, and shape shifting vampires. GIVE ME GAY WEREWOLVES, MAN.

Dystopia that isn't just some teen girl saving the world (really tired of "chosen one" stories) and cyberpunk that isn't a Blade Runner rip off. I want delicious, unique world-building. :weary:

If we're talking comic on here, I'm I'd like to see more murder-mystery stories. I'm even working on one myself.

I have a werewolf story I've been working on. There are some gay characters, one pan, one ace, and one nonbinary character as well. Might write more in as it develops.

I would like to read more stories with an older cast. Like how cool would it be, seeing a dad who is also a wizard go on a quest to save his family

Maybe it's just because I'm not that young anymore myself but I've seen enough highscool kids saving the world (although there are some awesome stories with that topic aswel)

Slice-of-life set in a fantasy world with unique worldbuilding. I get that the familiar and down-to-earth is a big part of the appeal in like slice-of-life for many people, but I personally want to experience awe-inspiring worlds like I'm going on a vacation to a land that doesn't exist in reality, and I find most stories with really out-there worldbuilding are plot heavy, high stakes stories that move too fast and requires too much thinking for me to just soak in the atmosphere, if you know what I mean :stuck_out_tongue:

Especially older ladies! I see them even less than older men, and never as the protag :c

Stories with bad endings (cautionary tales) that make us think.

Also I kinda want to see a story where doom is certain. (without supernatural occurances or deus ex machina) There's no empowerment only coping.

Like... livestock animal stories. Hehehe make it controversial.

I want to read stories about a character with autism or other disabilities in a fantasy/ dystopian world or a horror story that isn't exaggerated and/or insulting.

Most of my current cast starts out as teenagers, but that's because I want to cover a lot of major milestones in their lives. The current narrative skeleton I have planned out for my novel covers 210 chapters split over 1,470 Tapas episodes (7 episodes per chapter, though the exact number may change as I flesh out more of the story), and I plan on delving well into their later years as the tale unfolds, from younger stuff like teen angst and birthday parties and graduations to weddings, births, deaths, holidays, becoming parents, becoming grandparents, passing on skills to the next generation, etc.

As for what type of stories I'd like to see more of, definitely more racial and gender diversity, and definitely less-defined gender roles. I always try to implement that into my stories as well. On my team of five main characters, there is only one white dude. The leader of the team is a gay black man, the main "story" character is half-caucasian/half-asian, there is a latina who shreds guitar and becomes quite a badass, and there is a bisexual asian girl who deals with extreme hyperactivity and sometimes exhibits obsessive tendencies, particularly towards their ally Koga, an experienced Japanese swordsman.

I wish there were more stories that are NOT focused on romance. C'mon, there are so many interesting things in the world! You can tell stories about adventure, exploration, cool sci-fi concepts, amazing complex fantasy worlds! Have a romantic line in your story if you wish but don't make everything about romance.
Sorry for the rant.
It's so hard to find a story that is NOT romance-focused these days. I'm tired...

defenitley more horror/gore tropes and the type of ones that confuse you a lot

I honestly want to see more stories about regular families. Like, just a regular old family of parents and kids doing stuff. Tired of seeing families constantly arguing and dunking on each other. I feel there's a goldmine of stories for that type of thing beyond just "Generic family drama or show where one parent vanishes into the aether and the other one is a non entity to kick of kid's plot arc." type of thing. Last story like that i can genuinely think of that did that was either the Incredibles or No Ordinary Family if anyone even remembers No Ordinary Family.

I sort of want more stories with teenage protagonists who have an adult they can go to and talk to who will react in an appropriate way. I don’t like how stories with teens struggling with emotional or mental issues have to rely on themselves or another teenager to get through things.

SCI-FI SCI-FI SCI-FI

Also superheroes.

I never understood why people are intimidated to even draw it. Meanwhile, they draw demon/fantasy comics like nobody's business. Like aliens are fantastical creatures in their own right.

I've heard that kinda stuff is reserved for Marvel/DC, but why does it HAVE to be? And I get it, it's annoying to see X-Men comics or academy superhero comics or celebrity superhero comics where their goal is to become famous (also I agree, interconnected comics are super annoying), but I have a feeling if people learned more about the weirdo stuff, then they'll be creating crazier stuff on Tapas. I'm talking Silver Surfer, New Gods, Omega Men, Green Lantern, Adam Strange, etc.

Also I'm getting sick of Hell comics or comics that bastardize Christianity in general. While I'll probably admire the art, if the writing is going to be like "What if God bad" or "What if the Devil was actually right" or sexualizes biblical figures (except Lucifer lol, him I understand) or cherry picking concepts from the Bible that the author doesn't even bother fleshing out, my brain immediately shuts off and I just scroll down. If you're going to do it, you better bring your A-Game. I'm talking Hellblazer quality.

I sort of have an idea for a scifi story that parallels the garden of eden and has Seth as the main character. It won’t have Lucifer because he’s not from the Bible, he was created for a fanfic based off a misinterpretation of a passage yet some how got appropriated into some people’s headcannon. And Satan is New Testament, so he won’t be there either.
