My first story was about the French Revolution in terms of placing that into a fictional world. Russia of the time was also included, as was Italy. The country undergoing revolution was the big news of the day, which invited the country which was like Russia to turn aggressor and try to invade the country that was like Italy due to the distraction of the first country mentioned. The map of "Europe" was pretty different, and these countries were all nearby each other, of which the one like Russia was more of an island nation, but the one like Italy was still a peninsula. The country like France was where generally western Europe is, in which it was a very very large country that used to be an empire that united, so therefore yeah it was a big story for it to be undergoing revolution. It was quite a political book. At the center of it all was a lady in waiting for the queen of this country like France. The queen's husband had just passed from sudden illness, and therefore the events kicked off that made many people try to claim power or take it by force. This lady in waiting was enjoying time with the queen's fourth son, who had no chance at the crown and was not the recommended heir. As a lady in waiting, this girl was of the nobility class and might have stood a chance with actually bagging him since he had no chance of ever becoming king and was considered not really a prince at all at that point. The usage of French words of all of these titles was in the book, but for clarity here I'm using English. Once the revolution kicks off, people at court start to scatter, abandoning once thought beloved people for their eventual deaths. People turncoat and these confessions lead to more deaths. The MC is offered a place in the country with her sisters, one of whom has been ripped away from her family that was part of these royals and is quite distraught, but she refuses to leave the boy she loves. It goes on and on literally. It was an epic of 1200 pages in teeny size 8 Times New Roman font. I was 11, and a history nerd. Still a history nerd. I consumed everything I could find about France at the time of the revolution like other people drink water. I was a little insane about it, tbh or can't you tell.
