that's a fair enough point, but the idea, even rendered from the emotional pov, is still a little overdone, to the point where it would probably come across as an attempt to stretch the story, even if it was well written. Plus there is no one like that in either of their lives to come back, so it still wouldn't work. Though I do know lots of ideas can be made to work depending on how you write them, in the context of this story, it would have been dumb
