I know that there are a lot of different types of art styles. But I noticed whenever I talk to someone who isn't familiar with art styles they either assume that there's only realistic and anime styles. I was wondering what would you guys call your own art styles?

Art styles are never really consistent and you're always improving I think that in the future you'll have great art!

hmm... gestural? when drawing from life especially, im extremely messy, in a precise way. i have friends that draw very neat and constricted, with very accurate results, but i draw significantly freer, with a lot more gesture, sacrificing accuracy usually. that continues in my comics art; i abandon realism a lot in search of gesture, and my arts often describes as 'chaotic yet precise.' also, everything that can glow, glows.

Not sure. I spent a number of years emulating my fave comic book artists, then went total left field and started incorporating a bit of manga/anime style & somewhat angular style into my art. Now I've come almost full circle and I'm incorporating some elements of realistic style back into my stuff.

i call it Trying To Rip Off Kiwi Byrd's Style But It's Too Cartoony To Quite Get There

I've always been influenced by 90s and 2000 anime. So my drawings heavily leans on the anime style but at the same time I took out the elements that I don't like in the anime (insanely big eyes, simple line noses) but at the same time I don't want it to be realistic.

People (especially western-style artist) says my style is too "anime" and "generic" I don't really know but I really love my style because I can justify the scenes I really want. LOL.

But I just call it the Mharz style in different tiers (though it's actually just variations of rendering.)
Tier 19 - flat tones.
Tier 22 - black and white inks with bizarre hatching tricks
Tier 32 - cel shaded the most anime-looking of them all
Tier 47 - absolute digital painting, lineless

I used to say my style was ligne claire6 but I don't know if I feel like it still fits into that category since my line width has gotten a bit chunky over the years. I still like doing detailed backgrounds and cartoony characters though.

I guess when I'm trying to explain my style to non-cartoonists I usually say "modern indie comic style - think Scott Pilgrim"

i call my art style "read too much yaoi in middle school and even though grew out of it can't get rid of the influence"

It was originally just "Toriyama style" But now... sometimes I call it "cartoonime6" basically anime influence but I go toward more exaggerated cartooniness than realism.

I guess my style is a mixture of the general anime/manga aesthetic, and the illustrations for Moomin. I've started using grey tones less and relied more on the use of line to create tone.
