I love this prompt! My MC, Min-jun, would likely find a bunch of ancient letters written by a secret organization of Gifteds (people with magic). He'd use them to try to piece together the magic system. He has no idea how the magic system operates in the canon story and it annoys him immensely. He'll bury himself into translating the ancient language, and his husband (the King) will be very pouty about his newfound obsession (and subsequent disinterest in spending time with the King) but support him nevertheless. Eventually, he'll open a school for Gifteds and give them a safe place to practice manipulating their Gifts!

Well, that would probably be a stockpile of Gifts, probably locked safely within an abandoned lab or fallen tribe which work like power-ups within my story per se.
So instead of talking about a character who could use them, like Tomobi, I'll talk about Kiorif. For him, he would not tell anyone except his higher-ups about the find, not even those around him. And if given the order, would destroy them all.

Ahaha, this is very much related to a recent update in my novel In any other situation Aina would see about getting the ancient treasure to a museum so it can be preserved and studied, but in this case it wasn't really an option...
