As much as I despise how many poor decisions the developers make, I do think that Overwatch is one of my favorite FPS games. And another current favorite of mine is probably Danganronpa (Both 1 and 2. Especially 2). Their writing isn't the best and some concepts are a bit out there, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun with the series. Cause I really am enjoying my time with it.
My #1 though is probably a tie between Mother 3 and Persona 3. Mother 3 is just a masterpiece and the best of the Mother/Earthbound series (which is still my favorite franchise). There are so many things that I can talk about when it comes to mother 3 but its been a while. Persona 3 (I played Portable) has a great story with a great message. Just a real shame that they didn't carry over how character development was handled from that game to Persona 5 and Persona 4 (from what I've heard)
Runner ups are Persona 5, Fallout New Vegas and unfortunately Arcanum. I say unfortunately because Arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura has some truly amazing writing and roleplaying, but some of the worst gameplay I have EVER seen in an RPG. Just a shame tbh. I will go back to it eventually but my goodness this game made me want to break my computer on multiple occasions because it was so poorly designed. I hope fallout 1 and 2 aren't like this when I eventually get to them.
Hyper Light Drifter was also pretty cool and a little hard in its own right (but some of it is due to BS). The minimalist storytelling is also a plus imo.
