None. Love blood, violence, gore, sexual violence, eroguro, sexualized death, the works. Particularly in manga / animation. Less so with live action. In live action I don’t care for sexual violence in the same way like I do with drawings - it doesn’t bother me too much but it really just depends.
I deliberately seek out the most violent and gory manga I can find, at least the ones with good art and interesting story. Other times I like so bad it’s good stories like idk The Island Of Giant Insects and Pumpkin Night.
Of course some things make me squirm more because of how it’s portrayed. Like, Murciélago, for instance, makes me squirm sometimes. Then there’s TRASH. I love it because it’s like unrepentantly vile in showing horrible things - like I can’t describe it because it’s way too upsetting for most people. Also the art is amazing.
As for any actual limits tho: I guess I go NOPE whenever an animal is involved, even if it’s not real I just find it upsetting. If the rest is good enough I’ll just overlook it and move on tho.
Overall tho, it’s situational for me. Sometimes I’m a total gore whore. Other times, whatever I’m looking at just doesn’t do it for me.
But I generally like gore for the sake of gore and indulgent edgy violence.
Oh but like real life for real stuff? Mostly I can’t handle it. I made the mistake of looking at some images from a real life incident (a hostage or terrorist situation I think) that got leaked online. Let’s just say human cruelty knows no limits... you guys don’t even wanna know. Also I’ve seen irl pics of torture in the past. I can take it on some level but only because I’m great at compartmentalizing.
Saw a show about people who flay the skin from dead things (for like museums displays or for pelts, depending on what the client wants). I believe they mostly work with animal carcasses but the main guy had human bones in his personal collection. It’s like a legit job, a family business at that. Pretty sure he was on an episode of “Taboo” also.
See none of that bothered me. Stripping flesh from a dead lion? No problem! But seeing maggots on animal bones because someone screwed up and didn’t secure the vat they were boiling in properly?
I damn near threw up. So did the guys on the show too. I was eating a burger the whole time and was fine with the gore but when the maggots showed up I spat out my burger because I couldn’t eat while seeing that. Gross.
