This song was highly inspiring in the creation of one of my characters Not angry like most of my playlist.
I can agree with that! Though it's not as important to me, I do find different sorts of song do influence different inspirations.
Aw what that is the cutest thing. It's like romantic battle music o3o
When drawing, I like jamming to game soundtracks! Sometimes film soundtracks, too.
One of my fave playlists is this Jet Set Radio music. Funky, urban, video game music, heck yea
I usually fill my ears with history-podcasts (I'm a neeeeeerd), but lately I've caught up on all of them, so I've been resorting to listening to the OST for Tales of Symphonia.
Which, you know, is a pretty good substitute.
This is my kind of music. I also listen to some pop & japanese rock and pop
Here is a more docile song by Agent Fresco.
That's awesome! I mean i know there's at least a few people that do ^-^ I'm not a huge pop fan but it may be because of our local radio station, but I'll always love J-rock and J-pop.
I listen to a lot of German music like Rammstein, Oomph, and Eisbrecher. I also listen to a lot of Symphonic Metal like Nightwish and Within Temptation when I'm thumbnailing or sketching out the final page. When it comes time to inking however I switch to something vary different. I like to listen to Native American music while I'm inking and since I ink traditionally with dip pens I need to be super careful and Native American music has always manged to keep me calm.
Been on an Italo-disco kick, especially Radiorama and tracks produced by Mike Mareen:
In reality, I listen to pretty much anything, from jazz to metal to around-the-world gems.
I also love listening to podcasts while drawing, science stuff like Radiolab or story stuff like The Moth.
WHOA DUDE, I never thought I'd come across someone else into italodisco!! My brother and I just discovered it this summer and I am IN LOVE -- both of the songs you posted are some of my favourites (Mike Mareen is incredible, hah). It's awesome, high-energy synth stuff for drawing to, yeah?
The music is surprisingly easy to find too. I've been going through each of the ZYX Italo-Disco compilations each month. Having once been a goth, this music has given me an appreciation for over-the-top cheese.
Most of the pop I listen to isn't on the radio, I despise radio music selections.
I usually prefer to listen to soundtracks and full albums, since I'm too lazy to change a song every time These are some of my current favourite ones:
As a generic ambiance music i use to hear chillstep
And depending in the drawing 's mod/story, i look for appropriate ost to get in the story. I hace finished some drawing for a kid's tale and that has been the background music during the process:
We actually had one really good rock/metal station for a while... but one day it turned into a top 20 station. All the rest of the stations around here are no good... My state isn't good for rock and metal music. I travel 3 hours just to see bands I like in concert.
Also to keep on topic:Today I'm listening to Senses Fail The priest and the matador is a good song by them
Current jam whle slowly attempting to finish chapter 1 of my story
Ah, migrated from goth (80's) as well! It is such unabashedly cheesy music, yes. I can't get over the bizarre English and hilarious robo/sci-fi/fantasy themes they use. What is the ZYX Italo-Disco compilation, though? Super interested! Could always use more italidisco playlists for another comic project I'm working on!

A majority of these compilations are three-disc sets, so with close to 2 dozen of these compilations and still going, there's days worth of italo-disco ready to be listened to if you're ready to make that commitment.
Also great to hear of your goth interests as well, you mean stuff like The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus and Joy Division to name a few? We seem to have much in common; do you have an account to a music website, such as last.fm?
