What's your opinion on cheesy dialogue?

I'm a big fan of the gouda dialogue but I know a lot of people aren't into it even if it's intentional. So please tell me what you don't like about that swiss speech. You think it's overplayed? or you just think even for a joke it's not funny or kinda dumb. I'm here for some of that differing perspective.

I've ascended all manner of dialogue and have become part of the 'post-dialogue' movement--here, there is no risk of cheesy dialogue, for there is no dialogue at all. Just mood.

Cheese can be an amazing ingredient to dialogue if you know what you are doing. And knowing in what kind of stories the cheese will taste good and in what stories tastes bad is an art.

I like it when it's a character trait of one of the characters and it just seems to fill all other characters with regret that they know them.

Like having that one person in your family that talks it 75% puns.

What makes dialogue cheesy?

I partially ask because I genuinely don't know!
But also partially because this sounds like the kind of word people might use differently? Like, one person's cheese is another person's goofy-but-sincere; one person calls a thing "cheesy" affectionately because they love it, while another person reserves the word "cheesy" for when it's so overdone that it's bad.

It all depends on the comic in question's genre.
I personally don't mind it in general. But my favorite cartoon is Regular Show so.....not the best judge in that department lol

Most well-rounded stories have some amount of cheesiness to them. I would use cheesiness as a tool to make characters dialogue more entertaining. (As an example Star Wars is loaded with cheese.)
