When you want to give up

What helps? I've been feeling very melancholic towards my comic lately, got atleast three comments that the story was confusing, and one saying the chapter was too long and...I dunno. I know it's only a really small amount of people, but idk. Somehow it's worse because it's the latest pages, I guess, since these are people who've read through 300++ pages, so presumably they have to like the comic atleast somewhat....I dunno. I just want to quit.

I really like your comic, your doing a great job, look at the number of subs and views you got, that means something people like your stuff, don't let a few negative people drag you down.

Maybe try to reach to the ones that made those comments privately so you could get more indepth criticism? But I agree with @Dagiel, It's great to hear feedback and even act on it, but you need to be true to yourself and ask if it's really the best thing to do, and you actually improving, or you willing to go off tracks in hopes to make everyone like your story?

Don't give up! Your comic is doing fantastic! It's got 3000 subs which is essentially 3000 fans! You should be really proud of that number! I know taking critiques can be really difficult (especially if they aren't critiques and the person is just trying to be rude) but I think the fact that you have so many subs/likes/comments is a testament to your talent!

You need to just let yourself be proud of what you've accomplished, keep one ear open to critiques, and maybe just take a little break from the comic if you feel you need to. I think creators are often their worst enemies when it comes to their work and we need to just take a step back and just think about the good things about our work. <3

Well for one, hearing other people's opinions on how to get past it works...that and finding your inspiration along with something that makes you happy

You could also go on hiatus and take a break? Branch out to other comics/characters/styles. After 300+ pages maybe something fresh will ignite the spark again?

I'm not used to reading comics there, but are those comments from WebToons? The ''too long''/''too short'' comments always pop up when people discuss WebToons around here. It feels like it's the nature of that community.

I think there's nothing wrong with taking a break if you're feeling tired of it. I think you have to remind yourself of why you do your comic. I don't know your reasons, but I feel many create for themselves, because they have to, because they're having fun.
It sucks when some people don't like our work, but that's that. A story is not for everyone. There'll always be people that like them, always people that don't like them. So some people might not be enjoying. There are many more that are.
Are you? Because I feel that, primarily, you should be happy with it. If you're not, take a break. Think it over. But mostly: be kind to yourself.

I have yet to read your (and MANY MORE) comic, but I'd like to add that I really dig your drawings. Always enjoy your sketch rounds around here.

Just an advice for everyone who feels like giving up.

When people suffer a lot, with many terrible experiences people will start to understand that there's more important things to worry about than critiques comments. Is true, it hurts at the moment. But people are different, maybe they like it, maybe not, the thing is you need to continue your story because that's the only way to get better. In drawing skills and writing skills.

For example, lots of great famous series start with their characters noymally and suddenly the famdom gets crazy, they want shippings, they love certain characters, hate others, they'll start to critic. One as a creator or comic artist can listen to this critics and analyze what would be the best. And that depends on your study of the market (your potential clients)

So, don't give up. You are lucky to live where you live. Enjoy making comics.
Not all people are that lucky.
