What aspect of film school are you interested in?
I did not attend these schools but I did minor in Film. Most of the required classes were in film analysis. The other classes talked more about technical stuff like common terminology, camera operation, lighting, paperwork, and scouting locations. I also took editing classes, they were not required for the minor, but they were what I was mostly interested in.
Some of the students interested in TV journalism and news were not too into the technical classes. For some of them, they switched over to a Communications major. Looking up the type of job you are interested in and seeing what is the requirements. It's worth doing if you find yourself in this situation.
Tho, with the raise of web content creators, you could work up technical experience by working for a YouTuber. There are classes and online course in editing, production assistant, and other behind the scene jobs. Some local TV stations or Public Access may provide classes and opportunities for experience.
Stuff like script writing may require schooling.
If your dream is to be a director, good luck, because it's not really that easy to be one. I hear that a lot of people who wanted to be directors ended up on YouTube or making small indie films.
