Do you mean outside of Tapas? or are you asking about promotion?
I use both Tapas and Wattpad for my novel. I get a lot more traffic here than on Wattpad, but over there I get more 'activity', like comments.

Try 'Amazon', 'Goodreads', 'Nookpress', 'bookandreader', 'wordpress', 'the submissions grinder' to name a few.

Royal Road? They allow originals on there and there's quite a reader base on their forums.
Try Comicad. It's not just for webcomics. Webnovels advertise there too. A cheap way to get traffic with real readers, not bots.
Am it showing price of ad like Project Wonderful am formerly doing? Am always thinking that greatest flaw of Project Wonderful. Advertisements am supposed to communicate value. The more expensive-looking the more better.
From what I understood, if you want to participate in comicad, you should have a webcomics (or webnovel) on your own website, not hosted on generic sites like Tapas and Wattpad? Because I remember, there was some requirement about changing HTML code of a webpage with your comics, which is not possible, if you don't own a website. Or may be I mixed up something?..
No, you don't need your own site to advertise there. Tapas will do.
