I used to use Photoshop, but then one night I got really fed up with it and purchased Clip Studio in anger. CSP is a great program, and I don't regret dumping Adobe.

I mainly use Inkscape. It's an open-source vector graphics program I discovered when I was broke and unemployed and couldn't afford Adobe Illustrator.

Procreate for 99,9% of the painting, Photoshop for additional textures & special effects, CSP for mannequins, 3D references and traditional page format lettering, Affinity Designer for vertical format rearrangements + lettering ('cos CSP just refuses to work with the font I'm using on the vertical version of the comic).

I love Procreate and it's hands down my favorite program to draw with, but I don't like the way textures with layer effects are rendered in there, so I'm still sticking to Photoshop for that. Better cropping tools, text effects & layer styles I can use for sounds, actions and shortcuts are other BIG reasons why I haven't dropped PS yet.

CSP has a lot of awesome tools for lettering and balloon creation, but sadly it also comes with a few limitations on certain fonts that include alternate uppercase characters, hence why I ended up using Affinity for my vertical format.

I may or may not have a problem with hoarding too many art softwares...

I use Medibang. XD I used to use MS Paint back when I first started digital art tho... I'm not great at using the programs with lots of features, they confuse me 0_0

This probably sounds weird but i like simple but competent enough drawing apps, i want to paint just using simple tools such as basic round brush or feathered round brushes. I used to use ps sai but after purchasing tablet i tried csp, medibang, krita, procreate and i decided to go with procreate cz i like the simplicity of procreate, the user interface doesn’t intimidate me as much. But more importantly it rarely glitch and is very smooth to use, which is the most important factor for me when i paint.

I used to use only Photoshop. Then I swapped over to Clip Studio Paint, first only partially but then entirely. Now I use mostly Procreate because I have very little time and can use Procreate on the go. I still sit down to use Clip Studio Paint for paneling, lettering, speed lines and touch ups.

I am still using Photoshop but Clip Studio Paint is getting very interesting...

Most of my work is done on paper but i level and color on an old version of photoshop cus for what little I need from the program I don’t need the latest version of anything ever.

If I did draw my comic entirely digitally though I’d probably use CSP.

I used to use Photoshop CS3 for everything, but a few years ago I switched to CSP Pro and never looked back. I sometimes still use PS CS3 for formatting and scanning or just to adjust old comic chapters. But everything else is done on CSP. I like how it's similar to PS, but is more geared towards artist who draw or paint.

I use Clip Studio Paint Pro! Before that I used Krita, then Medibang. Medibang was what I used when I was starting out on comics.

The only response I have is the nervous, tired laughter of someone whose bank account was drained by Adobe for years, but I don't know how to type that out.

Yes. I do agree with you completely.

Man, I hate Adobe.

I use Clip Studio Paint currently. Before that, I used to use SAI.

I'm a procreate fan, personally - I use clip studio paint for lettering on the computer, but I just don't like the interface on ipad, which is where I do my drawing.

Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, but I’m starting to wonder if CSP would be better for comic making (and 3D things).

Took me a while to work out the Adobe programs though. :sweat_02:

Since I work as a graphic designer Photoshop and Illustrator are the programs I'm comfortable with. I would love to try clip studio paint but I rarely have any time to start learning how to use a new program.

I use CSP too! I got it when my boyfriend bought me an Intuos drawing tablet, and it came with 2 years of CSP. I really love it, so when it comes time to buy it officially, I’m willing to do so!

i only used paint tool sai. but i don't know how canvas making works on it so i reiled on ms paint to make the scaling of my art. i used fire alpaca as well but i only used it for it's animation feature. which is not recomended but still it's a good alternative to adobe... and their unreasonable price and complications
