Who is one of your favorite fictional characters of all time and why?

I'd have to say Zim from invader zim, That show is what got my into fan culture and an Oc that had in that universe was actually the inspiration for my main Character Yinyang from my comic TLC! (After several tweeks of course lol)

Also Karkat from homestuck cause thats what got me into webcomics

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is my favorite character of all time. I have a small collection of Oswald goodies and I adore his many designs throughout the years. As a huge animation enthusiast I really love the history behind his character and I think he played a very large founding role in animation as we know it today.

Not to mention, he's an adorable little sshole, has 420 children with someone who obviously is not his current partner, is currently being voiced by a wonderfully talented voice actor, has detachable body parts, and can fly with his ears. He also is like the anti-Mickey in some sort of way, and I am quite scared of Mickey. So that's....something I guess.

I really like Fred... well Frederick Frankford Fletcher from Drew Hayes' Fred, the Vampire Accountant Series. It's a comedic urban fantasy series. The books are a collection of several short stories connected to a larger narrative. I love how unapologetically nerdy Fred is, especially as the series carries on and he becomes more comfortable with himself. The voice actor for the audiobooks is also perfectly cast.

May be surprising considering that I write action comics but...my favorite fictional character would have to be

Daffy Duck. Love this guy, he's outspoken, selfish, rude, and completely unafraid to screw anyone over to get what he wants.
But the endearing part to me is that he's completely inept at doing so. He's a punching bag that tries to get out of his situations any way possible, only to fail. But it won't stop him from trying to do so.

Yes he puts himself in most of those situations, but I can identify with that too. How many times have I set myself up for failure? Too many to count.

I also enjoy the early days of Daffy, especially those Robert Clampett ones where he was batsh!t insane. It wasn't really until Chuck Jones that his character was fleshed out into the cowardly egomaniac I love so much. I really enjoyed that show from the late 2000s where he and Bugs were living in the same house. That show had a considerably different feel to the comedy, but I really enjoyed it. (Especially because Bugs would finally get some comeuppance for being the massive D-bag that he is.)

I want an Oswald video game. Or at least Disney to do something with him beyond cameos! I mean, they literally traded one of their employees to Universal to get him back! Do at least SOMETHING more with him, Disney! Dude can detach his body parts, for Pete's sake! That's just asking for something cool with him!

There is a Epic Mickey game, where you can play as Oswald as the second character. That's about it as far as i know

Yeah, I remember Epic Mickey. Loved the first one, never got around to the second one. Shame the camera in that game was so awful.

Video game wise,Kai Schulen from Valkeria Chronicles 4. He is one of the few good video game villains in my opinion. Like an anti-hero but not an anti-hero. And I love his voice actor.

Book wise; Leo Valdez. He’s perfect in every single way.

I have both epic Mickey games, despite having mickeyphobia. The camera in the first one is abysmal and the second one is difficult to play without two people so I've never beaten it. He needs to be in like, Kingdom Hearts or something.

Yeah, I'd love to see Oswald in Kingdom Hearts. (Or they could reboot Epic Mickey and just squarely focus on Oswald. That could work as well.)

I'd love to see Oswald in the parks more. They need to bring back the meet and greets for him, and have him be a costumed character in the major parks. Their lack of use of him baffles me given all the sh​t they put up with to acquire his rights.

Yeah, the fact that they jumped through so many hoops to get him back only to just have him sit in cameo limbo after Epic Mickey failed is just... Baffling to me.

Sakata Gintoki from Gintama. He's a 20/30-something slacker who is actually a war vet, but it's something he never talks about and only says "that was in the past" when someone asks him about it. When you know that about him you can kinda see why he behaves in the way that he does (a little TOO carefree by most people's standards), and why he is at first resistant, and then eventually takes in the teenaged characters (including a teenager from the race of the very people he fought the war against...) and acts like their adoptive dad/older brother. I just loved the fact that the writer chose to forgo a bunch of tropes and made his trauma be a really subtle part of his character, and made him someone who's not fond of letting things in the past influence his present-day decisions... It made him a really interesting and refreshing character from the usual shounen fair.

Also, Signy Mallory from Downbelow Station... I actually used her name when I lead some competitive first person shooter video game teams (which then became my online identity). Strictly speaking she's actually a terrible person (like, literally a war criminal) and an antagonist... But she had an unshakable belief in herself that nobody dared challenge and, despite being a horrendous monster to be an ENEMY of, she spent her life in service of the crew of her warship AND they would literally go to hell and back for her. She was the first female character I'd read about in a long time that was written as someone people looked up to and respected, and also (justifiably) hated and feared and who handled all those feelings towards her without too much internal conflict. I chose her name as kind of a reminder to myself, because being the only woman leading a team of men while being surrounded by other teams of almost entirely men is kind of scary (there are a lot of people who have a lot of strong feelings about you). But every time someone addressed me as "Mallory" I got a bit of my confidence back. The fact that the character was a terrible person was a reminder to myself that sometimes, I needed to care about my feelings above anyone else's, even if I felt like a terrible person - and it's fine if people got upset about it.

@Mallory I love Gintoki's character. Gintama is probably my favorite Shonen series out there.
