Drawing her has been one of the biggest struggles of making my comic so far

I wanted her to look really unnaturally beautiful but that is a lot of pressure as an artist lol

My main character. Because wings. Why did I have to make a main character that can grow wings out of his back?!?

The reason his hair was blue at the beginning but is white now is explained in the story (short version: it's naturally white, he used to dye it, when he figured out how to shapeshift the blue dye went away). But those wings! They take me way too long and I am never happy with them.

I'm about to give such a lame anwser. My designs stay pretty simple so they're never an issue really.
The pages aren't out yet, but this DAMN OUTFIT AND DESIGN gave me so much more trouble than I wanted.

Okay, hear me out. The faded brown to orange hair, the weird spikey jacket thingy, the fact that her jacket and top AND pants are slightly different shades of black. Her eye makeup. Her wavy hair (wavy hair is so annoying for me to draw... and despite that I made most of the characters wear that hair texture :|). The earings.... I HAD TO DRAW THIS 30+ TIMES!! It's really not that bad compared to some other designs in this thread, but as someone who prides myself on easy to draw designs, this felt bad.

So, as of now, the hardest character in Light Rising to draw has been Sora in said design.

It's a toss-up between Temba from chapter one (gold hair beads, earrings, scale mail, small color details, undershirt layer, boots, gloves, sword, etc)

or Ghaelfain, from chapter two (LOTS of details in his hair, rings, staff, wrinkles, long robe with details on it, etc.)

Oh man, my two leads tie for that honor... so lots of practice on my shortcomings :joy:

A wolf-ish-type man with antlers (antlers?!?!?!?!) and a dragon. I mean, I cheat a little with the dragon since it can shape-shift (I'm not inconsistent, you're inconsistent!). Still fun to draw, though.

Probably these two because of the way I designed them. No regrets though.
Rius and Blaze from Where Destiny Called Us and Tore Us Apart.
And I am now questioning why I went with a long title for a web novel.

Sketches: Left - Rius; Right - Rius and Blaze

Deirdra The Unyielding (old pages. been extremely sick and havnt drawn in almost a week :mask: )

Making a thirst trap monster was a challenge, but I thought it was a fun twist. There is also a lot going on (wings, horns, dragon snout, muscular female anatomy, dragon feet, etc)

Thankfully she's not a main character :grin:

Well, me being a white male, I guess I naturally find my AA female oc the hardest to draw no matter how much practice I get. :\

My latest 2 attempts :

my main villain apocolys has very ornate armor so but then again all the knight forms are hard yo do sometimes

24 days later

@ThunderChicken Yeah feathers can be hard to draw.
@morganicfoods Sometimes the little details can give you the most trouble especially if it's slightly off.
@Scarlet_Cryptid I'm curious what medium did you use?
@llobucervallince Your art style kinda reminds me of the ukiyo-e style from Japan.
@Headypigeon4180 Woah valkor is larger than life.
@DanielRKM Shape-shifting dragon that's interesting.
@kishyie Love the detail on the clothes.
@GodbreakerComic Your style kinda reminds me of dragon ball Z.

@maskscomic Making a character cute is a skill on its own and it's much harder than people expect it to be.
@YS_og You did a good job in my opinion she looks gorgeous.
@N1ghtm4r3 Giving me Thanos vibes.

for me it's Rang.

It's difficult trying to draw her dreads in a way that flow naturally but also not covering her face during action scenes (when they're not tied up). I also have a very particular image of a face for her that I can't really get consistently right. The image above is my best drawing of her, but it's a cover. When I have to draw her faster for the panels, it's hit or miss.
