Who would you cast to play/voice your characters in a cartoon or live action version?

They don't have to be actors, they could just be people you think look like the characters.

Personally I think Jenna Ortega would play Alicia. While she doesn't look THAT much like how I imagine Alicia, she has the closest aesthetic out of all the Latina celebrities I can think of.

My brother says that the way Kattar is described sounds like Conan Gray, while I personally think he would look more like Hwang Hyunjin. Neither one of them has enough of a tan though, and I'm not sure whether Conan Gray can act or not (Sorry Weaselnim, but you just can't.)

I have doubts about whether Nixvir would work in live-action, but I have had some idea about which actors I would want to play each character. Mostly homegrown British talent (with some exceptions for international appeal). I initially thought of Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor) as the voice of Erik but assuming he doesn't live long, I am thinking of David Tennant instead.
Others include Emilia Clarke as Oriel, Ben Whitehead (imitating Peter Sallis (deceased)) as Ragnar, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Zombie Wizard C.S. Lewis, Liam Neeson as Lord Nix, and Michaela Dietz as Lady Aqua, Nikesh Pamar (the voice of Deepak Dalmatian) as the Particularly Musclebound Sage, Jennifer Saunders as Faerie Redmane, Helen Mirren as Wallas Darzea, et cetera.

For Ragnar, I would cast Ben Whitehead (obviously), John Cleese as Elder Ubba, Tom Baker (another Dr Who actor) as Apollodoros, Stephen Fry as the cat, Daniel Radcliffe as Polydeuces, Elle Fanning as Princess Libenor, Hugh Bonneville as the King (Libenor's father), Mark Heap as Torsson (Ragnar's friend who later joins the priesthood), Freema Agyeman as Dr Penthesilea (Ragnar's hand-to-hand combat instructor at the Academy), Hank Azaria (using an Irish accent) as Dr Trinculo, Steve Coogan as Lord Choshech (who will appear later in Nixvir this April), Evanna Lynch as Aerolith, and Luke Youngblood as, erm, someone.

Volken - Johnny Yong Bosch (Vash in Trigun/ Trigun Stampede)

Meri - Cherami Leigh (Leaning on the Lucy voice)

Rosso - Matt Mercer (Macready in Fallout 4)

Nero - Patrick Seitz
Hard to find a voice close to Nero's tone, but that's where I'm leaning

Anywhere would definitely be good as an anime. If it did get worked as a live action, I couldn't say who would be a good fit. My husband has been reading it in hardback copy, and he said that when he hears Gen and Mika speaking, he hears Ian Sinclair as Gen, and Justin Briner as Mika, two very popular anime English dub actors. I can totally hear Justin's voice for Mika, but I don't know about Gen Matthew Mercer and Bryce Pappenbrook would have to be in there somewhere...maybe Bryce for Riley? I think Colleen Clinkenbeard could be good for Kana. So many good voices, I couldn't truly decide!!

I think my all time favorite voice actor is Phil Lamar, but I've never heard him do a voice like Kattar's, though I wouldn't doubt that he could figure it out. So maybe if I ever made "Damsel in the Red Dress" into an anime/animation he would voice him. Though I can't imagine it would do well as a cartoon, better as a movie or live action series

For Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days, it is a true story, so wherever possible, I would have the real people do the voices. For the child versions of the characters, and in the cases of characters that are now dead, I have no idea.

For Finding Daecon's Way, I would have:

Daecon: H. John Benjamin, (Home Movies, Archer, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers) in his Archer character, because Daecon was very much the cocksure, arrogant prick that Archer is.
Owen would be played by Patrick Stewart (You know who Patrick Stewart is) because he is dignified and speaks with a British accent. Not "American Dad" Patrick Stewart, but "The Next Generation" Patrick Stewart.
Leander would be voiced by Ron Funches, (Final Space, Harley Quinn) because he has a gentle black voice and Leander is a gentle black man
Evander would be played by Billy West (Ren and Stimpy, Futurama, many more) in his Fry from Futurama persona, because I imagine Evander sounding like Fry (but much, much smarter)
Dionysius would be played by Tommy Chong (CHeech & Chong, That 70's Show) because he is an old hippie
Darion would be played by Alan Oppenheimer (He Man and the Masters of the Universe, many more) in his 1980's Skeletor persona because Darion speaks in a nasal, high pitched voice and is very high strung.
Lucinda would be voiced by Whoopi Goldberg because i just picture her sounding like Whoopi
Jake would be voiced by Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty, Archer, more) because Chris Parnell does such an excellent weak, snivelly voice
Jonathon would be voiced by Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, The Emperor's New Groove, more) because of his blunt, to-the-point style

Ragna: high pitched voice. In my mind she goes against the typecast of the jacked tomboy type having a masculine voice. Someone similar to Anna Kendrick but with a super thick Canadian/Minnesota accent. (In my universe that's the accent vikings have)

Ravening: A raspy smokers voice with monotone delivery. Like if Emma Stone played Daria.

I think with this knowledge it reads totally differently. Especially Ragna.

When I've made animations in the past, I tended to voice pretty much ALL of the characters, regardless of age, gender, or anything else. Though the main reason for that was that I didn't want to spend money hiring voice actors or working around their schedules.

For my current story, I would want it to get an anime adaptation, which would mean first getting it translated to Japanese, ergo Japanese voice actors. Even for the dub, I would at the very least want many of the actors/actresses to be knowledgeable in various Japanese accents, regardless of their backgrounds.

Just occurred to me that Alessia Cara both looks and sounds a bit like how I imagine Alicia. I'd probably have to do without the accent, but it could work.

Blue Fedora: Anika Noni Rose (Princess Tiana)-As I've said, one my friends says it fits her the best.

Otto: Captain Engelhorn's voice from King Kong (the Peter Jackson version) really fit Otto to a T. Thomas Kretschmann can definitely voice act, too!

I'm updating this series, so I may as well share some voice claims.

For Detective Clyborne, I'm thinking he sounds like Brad Dourif. Specifically Dune Dourif.

BUT I feel like if this were an actual voice cast, I would prefer a trans guy be cast to play him. I feel like Michael D. Cohen could do a decent Brad Dourif.

For Rin, I'm thinking Karan Brar. (speaking voice, not the one he does when he acts).
