So here on Tapastic, I have a comic. A comic who's prologue (40-pages long) was already finished. So I had decided to put the ENTIRE 40-page prologue up at once.
Over on Webtoon however, I have been steadily putting the same prologue up slowly over the course of time. It's only got 2 pages left to upload, and when Chapter 1 begins in a week, both it and Tapas will be getting a single page uploaded twice a week.
But I realized a problem...I think...
While I'm realizing that the slow gradual uploads are really nice for getting exposure (since it makes it show up in the fresh/new section more frequently), it's also making my comic's navigation portion 'cluttered'. So on webtoon, I was planning to condense the entire Prologue pages into 1 episode, just like how the Tapas one is. Looks cleaner, and it'll be easier for future readers to scroll through (so long as I make sure the episode's don't turn out to be super long each). I also plan(ned) to treat future chapters for Tapas like I did for Webtoon, where instead of submitting everything at once, I would just keep to my two pages a week schedule until the whole Chapter is done and I'd then condense it once it's finished. Rinse and repeat.
Here's my problem though...and my question.
If I do that, will I lose like rating?
I realized that over on Webtoon at least, all the likes that the individual pages got were adding up to one big number that's shown publicly. I'm guessing the same is on Tapas as well. I was prepared to lose the comments I got for those pages, but then I realized...won't condensing pages to create a full episode also destroy the likes and pretty much erase the support I got? I know the 'rating' portion of Webtoon will probably stay the same (I'm proudly sitting on a 9.0 out of 10 on Webtoon!), but wont' the heart rating that each page got be destroyed? I don't want my comic to seem like it publicly sucks with no heart rating when really it had accumulated almost 700...
Am I just being paranoid? Will condensing pages to create more cleaner episode chapters not actually affect my like ratings and only destroy comments? Will it not even touch comments? Is there a process by which I CAN condense without losing anything? Any help is appreciated...
