Working on two different Genres

I was wondering if anyone has ever had two comics at the same time that were completely different genres? For example Comic A is an action, adventure, fantasy and Comic B is a romance, drama, slice of life.

Oh yes, right now I have three series going on: Demon House is a slice-of-life with supernatural elements (demons, come on), Heavy Horns is a romance, and Erie Waters is...well I listed it under fantasy but it's more of a paranormal drama.

It's pretty much like your example: I have a romance/slice-of-life strip based on real life plus a magical girl/action/mystery-ish thing. The styles are pretty different, I suppose.

I have my main series, 6,75, which is a fantasy with action, but I'm also currently slowly working on a comedy serie based on events that happened during uni time, and slow paced slice of life ( : Still not on tapastic, but my fantasy serie is really long soooo they're going to be 3 at once at some point in time CX

You seems to write a wide variety of stories, you are probably a very flexible writer.

The romance I am writing takes place in a fictitious world but its set in the modern age. You are like me like a little slice of fantasy with your work.

You sound quite the busy comic artist. My romantic drama has the main plot line written down now I just need character concepts for the main characters.

Well, we have :EPOCH Files which is action, scifi and Double Scoop as slice of life, comedy.
We are planning for a third one which is a supernatural, detective genre.

I'm only posting Grassblades-stuff on Tapastic right now, but yes, I do juggle different genres of comics all the time.

I did two scifi oneshots over the summer - one for an anthology, the other for a competition - and I'm currently working on a Christmas-calendar type comic. I wrapped up a romance oneshot in during the summer as well.

Most of my stories tend to fall somewhere in the speculative-fiction-and-adventure side of the scale, but I do dip my toes into other genres as well. I've got ideas for a bunch of stories other than Grassblades, in all kinds of genres, which I hope to get to some day - and they stretch from the familiar adventure-territory all the way through gag-strips to low-key dramas in modern settings.

I might feel most at home in fantasy-adventure stories, but I've never been the kind to stick to just one genre when I have infinite possibilities.

At the moment I'm working on Capefall, an ongoing superhero/drama comic, and Voidcall, an anthology horror comic.

I've also tried making fantasy, martial arts, slice of life, and zombie comics in the past.

Haha yes, it is busy, but mostly because I'm uploading my main serie daily c; for the others, I'm just really slowly working on them when I find some time (...and I usually don't).

As a writer I'm usually developing a bunch of contrasting projects of varied genres, I don't have a favorite genre so I like to explore different ones.

I retired from drawing (now I only write for other artists, like Eli Navarro, the artist I share this account with), but years ago, when I did illustrate my own comics, for a few months I found myself making four comic strips, one was science fiction, one was fantasy, and the other two were random gags with animals (one series was about snakes and the other was bout a little shark and and his octopus friend).

ha! I've wondered this too... currently the only comic I'm drawing and posting is pretty much just adventure (but in a World Gone Mad), but when I started that one I was working on a murder mystery and now I'm working on thumbnailing an urban fantasy and writing script for a post-apocalypse story in the style of a folk tale. I also have a novel, which is paranormal slice-of-life. Basically, I have my fingers in a lot of pies and they are all extraordinarily ridiculous. It keeps me from getting bored, though.

I sometimes have dreams that eventually develop into stories. However my newest romantic drama comic has been floating in my head for quite awhile so I decided to start developing it this week.

Getting bored is an artist's worst enemy. If your passion gets bored what else is there to do. D: Anyways the romantic drama comic I am developing will definitely deviant for the genre I am familiar with. I don't know what to expect from this comic so I am looking forward to working on it.
