Let me start this off but saying that I am literally going to slam my head into a wall. I am SO done with this stupid idea.
I am a writer, no duh, and for my current novel, that is still new, I decided to write 3rd person limited in present tense. Cool cool. Right? It isn't too "cool cool". I find myself drifting back to past tense way too often, and every time I edit I am taking so much time editing tenses. I don't want to be switching tenses in every other flipping paragraph accidentally.
I am only 15,000 words in to the story, and I guess my question would be: would you, as a reader, stop reading if an author were to go back and switch the tenses to past tense?
I personally feel the story would run smoother, but, heck, that's a lot of editing, and I am unsure if I want to commit to that if my following sky dives. Y'know?
What do y'all think?
