i wouldn't want any creator i follow to do that. what is kinda nice is little extra tidbits - not continue the main story, but maybe some extra art and short stories. a lot of comics big enough for that kinda demand have patreon or similar for that stuff tho!

There's a super popular creator on WT that hate his own comic at this point, but continue due to pressure of fans/company, it's an open secret among the fans, quite sad really.

I am nowhere near finishing my series. But if the series is done, then it's done. If a series needs to end, it needs to tie up all the loose ends and basically say "there's nothing left to tell anymore." or at least that's how i see it.

I think it's okay to continue a series if there is a potential for more story, like most TV shows. But it's actually a bit of a pet peeve of mine when a story keeps going on and on. I've read a lot of YA stuff where the female MC almost always gets superpowers, is related to key players or is the mother of a future key player, and leads a battle with no experience. All of this comes after the romantic drama with the love interest. It's okay to reach the "happily ever after" moment and just let the characters basically live out their lives in peace.

I've thought about this countless times. And I decided to just follow the Boruto route. A spin-off that follows the next generation. It allows me to use characters and ideas that couldn't fit in the original story. So it's a win for both me and the viewers. I get to use all of my ideas while they get a conclusive ending along with more content that stars old and new characters.

Nah, it ends unless I had more of a story planned. Also, do you mean the resolution? Since the climax, although close to the end of the story, isn't at the end; that's really the resolution's job.

If there was a high demand, I would tell a new story in the same universe. There's a whole war that happened in the universe that would be fun to see play out. There are other interesting things that could happen there.

I would not, however, just drag the same characters on and on through pointless stuff that's just a cycle of what I had before.

Maybe more of a prequel/spinoff rather than a continuation of the same thing. Or like bonus "in the future" content that is just for fun.

Absolutely not. When the story is done, it's done; dragging it out only makes it messy and unenjoyable. I would consider exploring the series universe with other characters, and potentially bring on an original for fun, but never take my same squad and prolong their journey.

It'll take more that popular demand to get be to extend and potentially destroy my own work by dragging it on for too long.

If they pay me enough maybe? But even that's kinda iffy cause there's the possibility of me having to put in a LOT of work for something that could likely ruin the story / characters, especially if I really don't want it to go on.

Generally I think if I was in the situation were a series I have finished continues, it would NOT be because of reader demand, but because I thought of another story for these characters that I thought was good enough to warrant the work of creating a comic again.

God, I wish.

Probably I will not continue it but making some spin-offs that pay homage to the original series. It is not a direct continuation that affects the original story, rather an expansion. If you have a fat cow, you might as well milk it good.

This. I think I would do it the same way. Maybe meet the old main charas in a side panel but the focus would be the new cast. My story is years away from the ending though, so I don't have that problem just jet xD

I would, but only in the form of occasional bonus episodes or something. I wouldn't want to continue a story if there's no story left lol.

I doubt this will be an issue for me, haha. But I have so many connected story ideas that I'm all set if it ever does happen.

Honestly no. If that story is done then that story is done. If there's another story to tell in the same world then maybe I'd do that, but that story is over.
