Would You Work on Another Comic?

I realized recently that I have no interest on working on any other comic than my own. Moreover, I don't have much interests in working on other projects, even if new ideas are not a problem. The only comic that I can see myself working on for the quite a few years is Johnny Bullet.

There is another older project that I would like to revisit, but I can't figure out when I would ever have time to do so when I am so committed to the current comic.

I work on other projects ALL THE TIME. The way my brain is wired, it keeps throwing me these new ideas when I'm trying to focus on something specific (in this case, Grassblades) - so I try to pick a few small ideas and do oneshots on the side while I work on the bigger comic.

It helps me from feeling bored or burned-out on Grassblades, because it prevents me from feeling like I'm doing the same thing over and over and over.

well of course im not interested on working on any other comic than my own...
ive got already a basic script and some sketch but i cant do more than that because time cant allow me
maybe in a short future i ll stop grunk for sometime to let start another comic (for a while and then go back to grunk and so on)

I've tried it in the past, but I realize I just can't get into drawing for someone else's comic. I didn't realize this until I tried it out with a writing team and found it wasn't for me. I still feel bad about having to back down from the project :x but going forward I'm able to be honest with myself and know that I can't muster up the hype needed to work on someone else's script, unless it were a very short (like less than 10 pages) sort of deal. Any other kind of art I'm happy to collaborate, such as on storyboards. But comics are such an intensive process to me, it's hard to spend that energy on someone elses' idea.

As for my own ideas, I have two main ones, but right now I'm putting 90% of my energy into only one of them, with the intention of putting what I learn toward the other, more complex comic. D: But I have had the same two story ideas bouncing around in my head for years and intend to complete them both.

I'd only be willing to work on another comic if the concept was interesting and (obviously) pandered to my interests. Even then, I'd only be willing to work on short form comics - knowing me, I'd lose interest or my hype would fade if it was a long form comic.

As for stories that are 100% my creation, I definitely would and am! As much as I'd like to give more attention to one story over the other, it'd feel unfair to my subscribers that are following my current longform comic if i should put that comic on the backburner in favor of the more recent one. So it's just slowly building up a big buffer for the other story, as it hasnt been posted anywhere yet, while making sure the buffer on my current story doesn't run out >>; as for what motivated me to keep working on two long forms, I just like my characters that much lol. not to mention I dont work any kind of job beyond commissions here and there, so I've got plenty of free time.

2 years ago I started a comic I came up with when I was 12, I worked on it for a while. My best friend told me it sucked many times. Then one day he was raging about BL comics and was glad I sticked to my crappy sci-fi comic and didn't do any BL.

I wanted to annoy him since he hates BL so much and started to work on my own BL comic (while still drawing my sci-fi comic). It worked, he was speechless. So it all started as a plotless cliche joke, but people liked it and soon I came up with an actual plotline for the 'joke'.

I started to really enjoy working on the comic and eventually put the sci-fi comic on hold for the time being because I can't work on 2 projects I figured.

I'm on the same boat here. I just can't seem to enjoy doing other people's project but I have to force myself because I need to earn income. My life is so conflicted. -_-

I wouldn't mind doing another comic project as long as it's something that is my own but I don't like overwhelming myself so I prioritize the project I really want to finish first and put others in the backburner for now.

I'd LOVE to cowork on one some day too, cause I think that'd be a fun experience. I'm also not as good of a writer as I once was apparently? At least I feel like I'm not. So to be able to work on someone elses story with them would be interesting to me. P:
But at the moment with my pretty much fulltime job and daughter still not yet in school, free time is a bit few and far inbetween~ Haha ah well. : P someday

I've realized that I actually work BETTER when I work on other people's comics - I find myself trying harder. The bad thing is, I usually feel like I need to bring it to perfection, because it is for somebody else and find it hard to get to the stage of "feeling accomplished" (which is pretty frustrating)

I wouldn't be against it. As long as the idea interested me enough I would consider (if it was decently paying as a job then lol yes I need the moneys) and I know a few ideas my friends have that I wouldn't hesitate in at least helping with the comic if they decided to do one. Collabs can be fun if all parties involved get some enjoyment out of the project.

I also have a few ideas I wanna work on, but as of right now I can't pick even if I am leaning toward another one because it would be "simpler" to do.

If i'm feelin another project, I wouldnt have issues working on it. But yeah, I'm in that same boat where i really dont care to work on any other projects outside of my own. I dont mind doing stuff like pinups/posters or covers, but havent come across a project that's made me want to do interior art/sequentials.

I have too many ideas to only make one comic. I have 3 I am developing and each is vastly different from the other. I wanted to become an artist to tell stories. For as long as I have ideas and like them, I will draw them. I don't like being fixated/attached to one idea, I want to try new things and I want to experience different worlds. I can't do this if I just stick to one story or make a really long one.

I can't imagine not taking side projects and having things to do other than my main comic. I think if I only drew kids with guitars my art skill would totally stagnate. I like taking small comics to challege my storytelling and art ability. Lately I've been making a one shot horror comic to try and expand my confidence with digital comics and working in color to set a mood. If I only drew my main comic I wouldn't learn these skills because it's black and white and made traditionally.

I gotta say yes cuz I have had another project on the go pretty much nonstop for the last 3 years! When I finished up the last couple in January, I didn't pick up anything else right away, and I'm kinda enjoying having a little more spare time between my full-time job and updating my webcomic 3x a week.

I have other ideas of my own I'd like to take a stab at, though-- and said webcomic is going to finish within the next year or so, so I'm thinking about using some of that spare time to start planning for the next personal project!

Yes, I have so much source material for other projects that I pretty lost count! I would like to do all of those projects i've created characters, worlds and stories for some day when I finish up what i'm doing with my current comic! The only reason I don't do them now is because I work 50 hours a day on commissions, so I barely have time to even handle the current comic i'm working on :S! If only there were 40 hours in a day instead of just 24...

I already have a hard enough time with one comic, so starting a second one of my own, isnt not doable but kinda hard. But working on another with someone else, thats a huge shrug from me XDD I dont think I'd be able to do it but then again if this was something I worked on with someone close to me like a friend, maybe I could? Cuz I'd imagine I'd put the same amount of passion into it as if it was all my own. Otherwise I'm gonna say no. I'll settle for my inner debate on having more than one of my own comic right now XDD

Yes and we do. Some things are for publishers and some are ones we are prepping on the side.

I'm working of 4 different comics at the same time XD. I'm publishing one, and the other three i work on in patterns. bulking up the pages so i can have alot of pages to qeue when i finally decide to post them. XD

i can't not do that. my mind makes stories and then just switches between them over and over.
