Love it or hate it, there's no denying that ASMR is a cultural phenomenon that's here to stay. I personally listen to it sometimes, though I find there's a very fine line between relaxing and uncomfortable, so I'm fairly picky about which videos I watch, lol. (Maybe this is a common experience? :stuck_out_tongue: )

Anyway, one trend I've been noticing is fandom-themed ASMR, where the ASMRtist will dress up as a character from popular media and do ASMR in-character. I think it's a fun idea, and certainly appealing to people who are really into a particular fandom/character. That being said, sometimes I see the character they decide to roleplay as, and I can't help but think... would that character really be very relaxing...?

And of course my next thought was, I wonder which of my characters would make good ASMR? I feel like Green actually would listen to ASMR, and would be pretty good at it if she decided to try her hand at it. Rikou could be a fun unintentional one, just her sitting in her library and reading to you. Most of the other characters, though... nope, I can't see it. :stuck_out_tongue:

So what about your characters? Would they be a masterful ASMRtist, or is the thought of them whispering in your ear unbelievably cursed?

I feel like the only person in the Errant cast who would deliberately do ASMR and have a good voice for it would be Jules. But they'd say like... weird crap, like they'd read you all of My Immortal in a soft whisper, or list the symptoms of horrible diseases or something because they think it's funny.

Rekki would be awful at it. I've described her in the past as having "extreme Spice Girls energy", which gives a sense of how I imagine she sounds; like Geri Halliwell had a kid with Ichigo from Bleach. If she's whispering in your ear, she'll just sound like she's threatening you.

Sarin would be good at it, but she wouldn't like doing it, because the idea of people treating her voice like that would creep her out. Subo would just feel too awkward talking to himself and start laughing and it'd turn into a bad podcast. Rocket would have forgotten five minutes in what she was doing and wandered off or started poking the microphone, or her rambling story would turn into some epic tale of an ancient saga and she'd forget to talk softly at all.

Qam - good voice for it but wouldn't. they think it's a weird amount of intimacy for internet strangers.
Najm - Najm's job is to murder people (Idk, I think that might be an appeal in ASMR). They have a more gravelly and nasal voice, this could all make for pretty good ASMR. and they would do it.
Alya - would do it, or listen to it, but would be mediocre at it. They have a lot of energy, they don't have the best control over their volume. but they'd enjoy popping bubblewrap into a microphone or chewing on one. sensory videos might be more up their alley.
Rahat - would be utterly terrible. too much nervous energy, I feel like their voice cracks constantly. They hate the sound of their recorded voice. not their vibe.

Evan Moriarty- Always imagine him having soft, calming breathy voice. His vibe is inspired by Shoegaze/ Dream Pop music, known for that sort of vocals bands like DIIV, Holygram etc :guitar:
so he'd be great at that.
Evan is never consistent at sticking to careers, but guess if he was serious or needed a new side hustle it would have been a great choice. He's a prankster so maybe he'd intentionally do it to someone, just to mess with them.

There's actually an idea for a female character in a future season that's inspired by ASMR, she's still being worked on but her power included hijacking her enemies phones/ mobiles to manipulate their senses via her ASMR style voice. She will either leave breadcrumbs or lead them to their deaths. Imagined her having a 50s type phone/aesthetic wit clicks and background sounds/music of that era. Her presentation would be haunting, mysterious (you may never see her face), pleasant and comforting but there's just something is off about her. She seems helpful, bestowing tips, but based on the many deaths by her hand, you question if she can truly be trusted. :iphone:

Henry: yeah, calm voice when he wants too, can sing softly to help sleep and tell you curiosities about the smithing and stories from around the world in a relaxing, whispering way.
Larry: no, unfortunately he doesn't have much to talk about and doesn't know how to do small sounds with object, he's still adorable in a podcast when talking about heroes and books he read.
Spring: *starts doing LOUD fox noises *
Autumn: doesn't care, doesn't talk, you feel like a demon is watching you throught your phone during the podcast, she is, she's also in the corner of your room.

I feel like my characters who are around 12 would just use the ASMR mic to make stupid sounds.

I feel like Zeta would hate ASMR because he has ADD and gets annoyed by repetitive sounds.

Other then that, I don’t know. I can’t really listen to ASMR because of my poor hearing, I can’t hear whispers.

Ernest would be like, TONK TONK TONK TONK. With his false leg. But perhaps if he whispers and such he’d do a good asmr. Nothing puts you to sleep more than the most voted sexiest accent in the world, the Irish accent.

But I bet Jack with all the toys he sells made of goopy plastic or oobleck would make a good one.

Naota and Nikado most likely do it in their world to pick up on chicks, Quincy thinks people into it are sexually depraved, and Eve is uncomfortable with it considering she's been created as this weird slave idol who brainwashes people by stimulating their brains through her singing. She's like "Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope"

In fairness, there are definitely people who would enjoy this. :stuck_out_tongue:

Again, based off some of the stuff I've seen, there's definitely an audience for it, haha.

My villain characters were actually the first to cross my mind, since that does seem to appeal to certain crowds. I just don't feel like it would be very in-character because they don't tend to be very quiet in villain mode, nor would they give anyone close personal attention (for more than a few seconds before killing them)

ASMR kinda makes me cringe.

And I certainly don't think most of my characters would be good at it, unless a rooster screaming into your ear is pleasant.

No, in fact I believe an argument would break out between them. LMAO

Every main in this would be perfect:

All the girls are canonical singers/can sing but don't professionally. It's not shown in this comic, but in earlier ones (as mentioned Mega mix is like a OVA to it) they have really nice voices, so much so they became successful almost immediately.

Pepper is supposed to have a good voice too

She could probably also use her tail or do that thing where
you cup your hands and squirt water?
