I wrote my first LGBT+ novel (five years ago) and what I already did of "X, shapeshifter1" in a depressed mental state, and analyzing the connection, I saw:

When I write depressed:
1- There're a lot of details missed :confounded:
2- Sexual scenes never come :disappointed_relieved:

Did someone experienced the same?

Now I consider what should I do with the work (Skip this if you only want to answer the previous question):
1-If I retire it to correct it in private, I surely not going to do it, and pass long time without writting harms me :disappointed_relieved:
2-If I continue, the disaster will increase.
3-If I correct it in public... Gosh, that would be the third time I'd redo it from the beggining, even I would give up on reading it :sob:
4-If I start something new, I'll try to do it more visual. Maybe not with finished illustrations, but with sketches inserted in the text. Can I do that here?

Good thing is to correct it in public. You'll gain some practice and reflection that will help you to continue writing further. You already getting better, so it would work out.
Another thing is that you already created something interesting and it would be great to continue. You just started the novel, so you can also modify or improve it without any bad effects. And you can always start to put illustrations. It would allow you to write less about some details and descriptions that you draw ;p.
So the idea to abandon it and start something new isn't so good in my opinion.

For the sexual scenes that never come. You could make a plan, a map of the story and put the sex scene there. And write according to it, so you won't skip anything important to the plot and will happen exactly when it should.
I hope I don't sond like someone who only talks big without having any experience.

Don't worry, I understand you want attention on your thread, but this is not the way.

I understand. Thanks for making me realize that... And... Do contact me if you want a thumbnail! :yum: @xabelmind

@Bethany, what do I have to do to retire a post? The problem is solved and I'm receiving spam. I don't have any problem with the person but it's a bit of a nag being receiving answers that are not answers, more now that I'm doing something about the topic  Really, I don't want nothing with the spammer, they realised what they're doing, I just want to close the thread :no_mouth:

1 month later

@xabelmind I hope this does not bother you, but I'm trying to help and don't know if I can/should? Do you still want advice about your story or nay? Sorry again, just wanna make sure.

Wow, @iclryu :open_mouth:

What I am is surprised.

I can't believe that you found this post (I asked to close it, but it's still here )

At this moment I already corrected and I'm posting new chapters

You're free to take a look and give any advice you feel it would help

Thanks for your concern, anyway

I'm still at a loss with the direction of this novel, but at least I'm doing better, I think

My pleasure! If you haven't already, perhaps contacting one of the forum moderators can help:
